Really meaty cod. Good size portion of chips. Tasty mushy peas. One large cod and one large chips just right for 2 of us to share.

As a live in carer I can't leave my client alone at all but she loves fish and chips so I order from hi tide because not only is their food extremely good they make sure its always hot and ready for when I go and collect it.

There is no debate. This is the best fish and chip shop in the country. Eat in or takeaway there is no difference. Great food, service and consistent quality.

We came here this evening after reading all of the good reviews!!We live in Upminster so it’s only a 2 minute drive.... when we got home the chips and savaloy were cold and the fish was lukewarm and utterly disgusting.... it tasted like cheap frozen fish from Iceland!!It was went straight in the bin!!

It was ok, nice fish and chip supper. Cooked well, but quite expensive for what it was.Tea was in such a small cup. A lot would have been better.Staff friendly, clean seated area. Quiet and traditional. No parking close by.

I have eaten Hightide for over 30 years.Everything is fresh and prepared from high quality ingredients!The chips are crisp and the frying oil used is clean and the more expensive kind.The fish tastes as good as it would down in Hastings, fresh from a beach launch trawler!Everything is prepared in a traditional English way and the owners/staff are always very friendly and welcoming.Dined in the restaurant earlier and it was a superb experience 5/5. Great food,great hospitality!
