Rocco's food & bar in Havering

I cannot highly recommend this restaurant. I have eaten here at least 5 times in the past 2 years. The food is made fresh to order and it is delightful. Excellent Italian pasta, even British classics are faultless. The food is really well presented. The staff are incredibly accommodating and attentive.The decor and music is great, the cleanliness is brilliant. It is rather unassuming in its style, almost cafe like. I would like to see that the lighting in the restaurant could be softer. For example brighter lighting over the table but softer lighting around the restaurant.Do not hesitate in going to eat here.

A great hidden gem that my fiance and I found when we had some family visiting. Very lovely staff which were very helpful and knowledgeable. Great traditional Italian dishes mixed with some British classics. Will definitely go again.

This place is a hidden gem service is great and the food is lovely. We have booked again to go. Reasonably priced as well.. I'm shocked that its not busier but it should be

After reading the good reviews to say I was disappointed was an understatement.First impressions were OK and the staff were friendly. But it went down hill fairly quickly.We ordered our starters and got drinks. Shortly after we ordered our mains. 10 minutes later she comes back to tell us that they only had 1 steak!!!! Do bear in mind that we were the only 4 people in the restaurant, it was 8pm on a Saturday and we had pre-booked.The starters took around 30 mins to arrive - everyone ordered cold starters but nobody was too fussed. It then took probably 20 minutes for them to clear rhe table (2 other diners have arrived so 6 in total in the restaurant)The mains - Gnocci was basically inedible. The sea bass was very nice but very small (I went away hungry). The carbonara was very good but by far the steak and chips was the best which was unfortunate as I had to forgo mine! Little improvements would be to change the peppercorn sauce (basically mayo with a couple of green corns) and to not drown the veg in olive oil - they made all of my veg taste the same.Then we just sat, eventually after 40 minutes of nobody coming in to the restaurant to clear the table or anything I went to the lady at reception. The waitress had informed her that nobody had required dessert and had all left and therefore both her and the kitchen staff had left!! She has not been back to the table to clear it or to ask if we wanted any dessert...!There were 2 saving graces, the lady on reception was very nice and it was not her fault. You should probably give her a pay rise. and the fact that we had a taste card which meant with soft drinks it came to £12.50 each got 2 course which is cheap but with the service it was difficult even giving over that.Would definitely not recommend and will not be returning!

Good Italian food and reasonable. Been twice now and food has been very tasty. Friendly and helpful staff and always a good sign when other patrons eating here are Italian too. Definitely recommend.

Love this place. It's such a comfortable atmosphere and yet the food and service is top notch. And great value. You couldn't do better for an authentic Italian and great steaks cooked and served by Italians.

First time visit for family event this week and had an excellent experience. Food deliciously authentic Italian and service second to none. Will definitely return.

Looks incredibly basic when you go in but don't be put off, the food and the service make up for the first impression. Great service, very tasty homemade Italian food. A nice little touch nibbles. And delicious dessert. We go back for sure.
