The Railway Ember Inn in Havering

Great local boozer, handy for a quick one when getting off the train, or spend an evening in there with friends or family, didn't try food but heard it's ok

We got a family meal. The food was lovely. Could fault the vault for money on food or drink. Partner had a burger and I'm sure it was bigger than his head!

Stopped in for a late brunch on a Sunday, and the friendly team were attentive and professional. There was a nice atmosphere with good background music that wasn't too loud, and a hubbub of all the different groups of family and friends, some eating, some drinking.Food came quickly, nicely presented and tasted great. I love a traditional pub and I'm definitely glad I stopped in at this one as a lovely start to my Sunday.

Roast beef dinner delivered and it was absolutely Delicious!!.. Couldn’t fault it. I highly recommend

Visited for a family meal staff was extremely friendly and helpful as it was our first visit the food was lovely waiting time was efficient as staff knew we didnt have a lot of time to wait they made sure we got our food and we all very much enjoyed it was great menu choices and great value for money the atmosphere around the pub was warm and friendly would highly recommend

Always one of my favourite pubs in the area through all its makeovers since I was 18.Just a comfortable pub, good prices, nice selection on the beers and the food is pretty good as well.Still travel from other side of London for a few pints here occasionally.

I went to the Railway Hotel on Monday7th February to meet a friend for lunch, the main doors were not open even though it was after 12, the lights were on, we found a side door and entered the bar, I had tried to call the bar twice and no response, we called out twice, still no one came, I then went and found the chef, he looked around for someone, still no staff, after 25 minutes, and by this time there were 15 people in the bar a woman appeared stating the pub was closed, this is the second time this has happened and other customers were saying the same. Even the chef was disgusted. It is lucky for your Hotel that we were all honest, we could have easily taken spirits,wine etc and left. Can you please explain why this happened?Regards Claire Harris

I'm a regular in this establishment and must say the pub's been very unstable for a few months now, mainly due to a lack of staff, and a permanent manager. The food's been hit and miss also, but my faith was restored tonight when I endulged in the ' Ultimate Burger' on the menu, as well as being very large, good job I was hungry, it was extremely tasty 😋. Just a shame they served up the wrong burger first and I had to wait a further 15mins for the correct one! Hence the 4 stars instead of 5 .

was originally out in room 101 - stank of drains and radiator not working. The helpful staff gave me room 102 the last room available . Radiator not working either and window wouldn't close and dribble of water form cold tap. Noisy and cold night. Cancelled my 2nd night

We were travelling some distance and on impulse decided to book a hostelry on the way home, this was our choice looking at the great value of the menuWe were acknowledged on arrival, shown to our table by the excellent Matt, who'd also been very good on the phone call.Festive menu as requested was provided, we order at the bar and starters arrived promptly, duck pate was tasty, prawn and salmon cocktail was nice, generous prawns but a little stingy on the salmonMains weren't long, tidily presented, the root veg roast was amazing, as a Flexitarian this really hit the spot, the Roast Turkey was piping hot.Dessert lemon Meringue cheesecake, change done for ice cream, lush and deliciousA great visit, must again thank the superb young Matt
