Tower Fish & Chips in Havering

We was going to to visit my auntie & she has been off her food of late & has fancied traditional fish & chips for some time, something I believe is hard to find in her area now (my cousin says most establishments offer fries with fish, which is not the same). My auntie was recommended that I go to Tower to buy some, to bring in for our lunch. None of us wanted a large amount so I bought my auntie a senior citizen portion & a large cod & chips for my husband & I to share. The food was cooked fresh in front of me. I noticed the best hygiene (even more conscious of this since the pandemic). The lady frying appeared to not be happy with quality of the fish & discarded the portion & started again. I was disappointed about the waste, but impressed with her standard of frying & presentation. The staff offered to salt & vinegar the food & even waited whilst I called my auntie (as she had been craving this meal for awhile, it had to be perfect). The man was very patient. Was offered tartar sauce at no extra cost. I was impressed, as often charged extra. We all enjoyed this hot food & there was no complaints. We could not stop talking about the quality, how generous the portions were & how hot the food was. We are still talking about it a week on!I told the staff at Tower that they were recommended & asked for a menu. We were all impressed with the variety of food on offer. My auntie will definitely recommend them, as I would too.Friendly staff, who clearly have regular customers as I noticed people were greeted by name. There appeared to be no complacency in the service to these people either.Well done Tower & thank you for making our afternoon an enjoyable experience & for making my auntie happy. It was lovely to see her enjoy her food & hear even now how much she enjoyed that meal 😊
