Terrible fish cooked in old rancid oil, and not fried hot as the fish batter was dripping in oil. You could taste the bitterness in the oil. The chips were okay but as they started to cool down I got the sense of stale oil in the aftertaste. The only nice thing was the mushy peas. Have given two stars because the chips were hot and mushy peas were good. Threw the food away not ordering from here again. People seriously have no pride in what they serve… a sad shame

This place is a love hate they wait times are way to long especially when you know its going to be a busy night generally fish/cod would ideally be ready, never have great time keeping what so ever.. even pre ordering in advance its rather frustrating when you also see other customers coming in after you getting served before you even may be smaller orders regardless its like a circus at times and i don’t see the funny side with jokes being cracked after. Front end service and mannerisms could do with improvement. Overall would still say food can be hit and miss. The doners i would not recommend at all stick to the other menu items. Ive tried delivery as well as collections for reference.

Fish and chips were ok but my burger was disgusting! Did not smell right once I opened the box but decided to give it a go, after one bite I realised its not even cooked, pinkish/ bloody juice coming out from the meat! Went straight to the bin even my dog did not want to eat it

As always the fish was freshly cooked and delicious ! Highly recommended.

Disgusting smelly fish ordered for my kids takeaway fish snd chips for first time.wish if i didnt . they both didnt touch the fish as it was smelly not fresh at all.

It was my first time ordering here, and to my surprise the food arrived spectacularly. First of all, the delivery was super efficient - arriving much earlier than I anticipated. Not only was it here early, but it was piping hot. The food was amazing - the fish was perfectly cooked and the chips were fresh. I would definitely recommend this fish bar! 5/5

I was in Britain visiting family. If like me you haven't had proper English fish and chips in over 10 years, Ickenham Fish Bar is the place to go and is well worth the wait! The take away sits just down from West Ruislip Underground. Happy, pleasant staff cook the fish, fresh to order and you can tell. I had the plaice and chips. Don't know if it is the best thing on the menu, but it is the best thing I've eaten in ages. Huge and delicious! Crispy golden batter surrounding firm and warm fish. The taste brought me the comfort of home and the satisfaction you only get from great fish and chips. I added the phone to the picture to lend perspective to the generous size of the serving.
