What a little hidden gem. Amazing meal, the staff are so helpful and friendly, our boys have already asked when are we going!. Highly recommended visiting, you won't be disappointed 😀

First time I've been since it's had an extensive extension added on. Happily the bar area in the pub retains its charm. Staff are still warm and friendly. Am hoping the large dining area when fully occupied doesn't end up spoiling the ambience I seek.

Pud is excellent, sitting in the countryside village of Shipley in West Sussex. Don’t use the booking system as although we had our booking confirmation email the pub had no booking at all for anyone as there was a private event. Food, atmosphere and service were excellent though as usual. This is an historic pub, boasting among other things as a grave in the front of the pub and a lady landlord being in charge as far back as the 1600’s ❤️👏

Lovely place, great little bolt hole in the countryside. Lovely feel and great food and nice staff.Would say that it could use being able to have some breakfast in the morning. Even a slice of toast or two would do. Maybe a breakfast hamper in the room.

Delicious food on a Friday night, booking would be advised just in case. Child friendly- bit of a limited menu for children but all good. Massive extension, lots of outside seating, live music on last night but we didn't stay for that having a child with us and travelled up from Kent. Staff are 5 star and so are the toilets! If you want 5 star quirky nice country pub visit here.. Its lovely, thank you.

Lovely pub with a Sunday great roast. Big portions and a great selection of drinks at the bar. The garden area is perfect for drinks in the sunshine and the cosy hearth equally perfect for a winter’s evening. A pub for all seasons!

Fantastic pub. Great comedy night, good food and nice touch with the buy 10 beers get one free stamps! Well worth a visit

Food was good however did not like the extension was too noisy and too big reminded us of a works canteen. Dessert was served with only a spoon a fork should have also been provided and also icream served on a plate with just a spoon I found it difficult to eat. Would I go again ? Maybe but not to eat in the extension. Rather disappointed it was not what we expected from a nice Country Pub.

Saturday 7.30pm - apart from just two other diners this very large room was empty. Our waiter informed us "unfortunately, nothing that swims is available!" - that reduced their menu options down by at least 75% - with hindsight we wished we had walked there and then! Our meals did arrive timely, but were at best very average quality and to make matters worse there was no coffee at the end - the waiter apologetically said "the machine had gone missing that night?!!"Last month we did have an excellent Sunday lunch there and because of this were going to book a fairly large family party with them, that's definitely not going to happen now! From our disappointing experience last night my advice is to maybe avoid the evening 'graveyard shift?'

Lovely pub, great atmosphere. We went for a Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. The food was top notch and the staff were lovely. We were there on a cold January day, but I could see what a superb spot it will be in the summer, with lots of outdoor seating, and surround by fields. This is definitely a new favourite for me and my family. With the beautiful new extension in the back, and a much bigger kitchen, I suspect this will be a very popular restaurant, once the word gets out!
