Staff is helpful but takes lot of time get attention for order. Food was okay, didn't found authentic pub food.

The Weir hosted my mother-in-law's belated 70th private birthday celebration in the conservatory area, which overlooked the garden area next to the water. Here's what she had to say:The room was lovely and bright, and nicely decorated with flowers and balloons, with a designated table for the buffet. We were looked after well by Jackie, and had our own dedicated member of staff for the duration of the party, who soon got into the swing of things and looked after my guests' wishes...filling up the glasses, replenishing the food on the plates, taking away empty ones, so everything look neat and tidy.Joanne also arranged for a little cheeseboard laid out after the dinner (at no extra cost to me), and I was allowed to bring my own Birthday cake at no extra cost. There was some gentle background music, 'golden oldies', before the resident band arrived and played some really good songs - one of my guests hinted he might want to come back for a pint j ust to hear the band play!Speaking to my friends and neighbours afterwards, they all had positive things to say. They said the food was delicious, that they enjoyed themselves and that it was a great venue.Others said they had a really lovely evening and that it was a great atmosphere with nice ambience. The pub's communication with me was professional throughout and I am very pleased with how well everything went.Thank you!

Had an absolutely wonderful lunch at this hidden find for us. This outstanding waitress actually asked her her name as she looked after us so well (Hannah), she greeted us with warmth and whilst she was extremely busy she catered for us superbly and we cant recommend the food enough it was outstanding. Only critism it shuts their kitchens at 3pm from their main menu so we were unable to order desserts, It does however offer afternoon teas. Hopefully you won't hesitate to try this gem

The food and the drinks splendid as always. But the service charge just threw me out. It should all be included in the bill. I don't like this payment on top of what you are planning on paying. But overall.. Great Christmas decor and amazing food..

Nice place nice beer and nice people around, my only comment that it was super cold inside and radiators was not working! Otherwise is good.

It started off with very inattentive staff, partner tried 3 times to get attention when staff attended to the table next to us. 1 of group was about to head to bar when we finally got attention. Then the service improved vastly. Unfortunately the food did not. Gastro, it wasn’t even as good as a Toby Carvery. 1 had Gambass, new to us, turns out just king prawns, Gastro’d up. I had Ham & Pea soup, a stingy portion & certainly not Gastro. Friend had a croquet which he liked. Followed by a burger which he liked. We had chateaubriand, Gastro price but nothing special at all. Chips & tomatoes were good & that’s about it. Deserts I was reluctant to purchase but thought I’d give benefit of doubt. I had crumble, nice but had to send it back as cold in middle. Bill came, service was automatically added which I disagree with but as a scene was not wanted we just paid it. Will not be returning.Having seen your reply I need to comment further. There was nothing “wrong” with the food (apart from the dessert). I only return food if it is not correct, it’s not your fault if I simply don’t like something. It is just my opinion that your food was not “Gastro” it was normal. I shouldn’t have to ask for more service but Just as my partner said you may have to go to the bar to order, the waitress came. It was a long wait. You say you only ever have compliments. You can no longer say that. You also write at no point did I inform the staff I was unhappy. Incorrect. I had to return the Crumble dessert as it was cold in the middle. It was returned to me overheated in a microwave. I do have to disagree with your comment that my review is unjustified. That is only your opinion. I have written many reviews. I feel you do not appreciate my review & instead of taking it onboard feel you must rebuke it instead. As I wrote, I will not be returning, far more enjoyable food elsewhere for far less money. I wish you well from a dissatisfied customer.

Had lunch here earlier (me, husband, baby, dog). The staff were lovely, and really helpful, especially as it's not the sort of place people seem to go with a baby or dog. It's more of a trendy bar...The lovely staff were nice /apologetic about the long wait for food (two other tables waited ages too), the murky beer (end of barrel) and the pie that seemed to be covered in some sort of cracker /biscuit (definitely couldn't call it pastry!)It's nice if you want wine /gin, I used to go with work friends and it was fine, but don't go there to eat!

Great venue and fantastic food. Highly recommended. Waterside views to top it off.

We booked here for a late dinner after watching a rugby game nearby. On arriving to what appeared to be an empty pub we were apprehensive but walking through and into the garden is like going through the wardrobe I to Narnia!Suddenly we were in a lovely open space, full of laughter and conversation... It felt like normal life was starting again! The staff were friendly and attentive, the pizzas delicious and the vibe - including aDJ for a birthday party in a private area - was perfect! We'll definitely be back.

Such a cosy and well decorated pub! Have very interesting menu and choices to acquire everyone's taste. The garden is wonderful, and it overlooks the canal.
