Amazing quality & price, simply the best in Islington. The staff and sushi chefs are so welcoming. Currently sat here on Easter weekend unable to see family & talking to Monir and he's such a credit to this business. Thanks team!

Best sushi in London by far! Our to-go sushi with no alternative meeting their standards. Chef Muni is lovely when sitting at the bar together with the whole crew. Authentic, quality sushi and good value for money.

Really nice food at very reasonable prices. We especially liked the fried chicken - sake pairing (highly recommend). The maguro (tuna) steaks with garlic soy sauce was incredible too. Really lovely staff and nice ambience.

Food was really good, smaller range of drinks available but that's not really what their focus is, and is quite understandable. Prices were fine, but we did have a real problem paying up as the staff seemed to not really know how to settle a bill. They got us to do all the maths tallying it up, then added it up again anyway, got it wrong and increased the amount my friend owed (not by much, but it was wrong) THEN told us there wasn't enough there at the end. We asked them to add it up one more time, which they did and it was (as we knew) slightly over. This left a bit of disgruntlement to be honest, I wish they would just take the total and subtract from it with each payment, the easy way. Otherwise a nice place.

We were really excited to try Akari since a long time, but unfortunately the quality of the food didn’t meet our expectation.Despite the very cute location (a former pub now used as a restaurant) the food was below average. We had some octopus that seemed to be still frozen, and the sushi was fine, but not very good.

I visited Akari with a friend of mine about a month ago. I consider myself being a sushi lover and I've been to many high-end, top-rated, japanese/sushi restaurants in London and I have to say that Akari beats most of them! Where can I start? When you first lay eyes on Akari from the outsite, it doesn't really strike you as something special but when you try the delicious cuts of truly fresh fish, you'll find yourslef wondering what you've been doing in your life and why you didn't know about this place sooner! We ordered one of the mixed sushi platters, the shoft cell crab roll as well as the scallop roll and all of them where excuisite! The sake was really good too. The ambiance and service were lovely and the prices are great value for money. I can't wait to go back soon! (I've already tried but they were always fully booked haha!).

Loved the food and very reasonable prices, the only reason why I don't give 5 stars is that the plates were served with quite a bit of time in between meaning that by the time my friends got their food, I was almost done with mine.

Excellent food, and brilliant service - just a really good overall vibe. Looking forward to going again!

Excellent service!Sushi was absolutely great; their signature Akari roll is a must. I also recommend you try their grilled tuna steak, which they elevate with their own interesting combination of flavor. I personally loved their Kushinsai and aubergine.Make sure to round off your meal with a healthy dose of black sesame ice cream.

What can be better than Onigiri and Kirin Ichiban lager beer? Best combination! Tasty and affordable!
