Fantastic Sunday roast, excellent price value to the quality. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended

The interior has had a refresh and added some themed booths. Great place for a special event meal. Sit up in the balcony seating overlooking the restaurant - or on the ground floor in the booth that seats 6. Food as good as always.

As always, great priced French food but they meed to spend money on the toilets. You could smell the drains as you go down the stairs and there was a hole in the wall of the cubicle with insects flying out. I had already eaten or I would have cancelled and left. I always say you can tell the hygiene of the kitchen by the cleanliness of the toilets.

Always excellent! Wonderful staff, somewhat funky interior adds to the ambiance of a meal that never disappoints! The menu isn't a huge variety - typically 5-7 different starters and mains - and this specialisation is why they have such consistency of good service & very good French cuisine. Best of all is all this is very affordable

We came on recommendation from a friend, but our meal here was just ok. The place is cute and the service was fine, but the food was not at all memorable. It’s not expensive but also not cheap for the quality. I won’t come back.

The Mercury has fortunately survived lockdown, and has changed its image.Previously a dark and romantic setting to hide away with your new girlfriend in a secret upstairs room, it's now brighter and more modern- looking. Although the romantic candles remain, the prices have gone up-- but still affordable for French food.Service was polite, but my steak was over- cooked. To compensate, the staff omitted charging for another item. Not great cuisine, but a valuable French restaurant to survive in Islington-- I can think of the pricey Bellanger as it's only competitor

Such a good French restaurant with very reasonable price. Top quality food served in this restaurant with an amazing service, and it’s atmosphere is so romantic and elegant. Highly recommended.

Came here for brunch with my other half...ordered the vegan breakfast for myself but on sight of her salmon and avocado we ordered the bill and left having barely taken a bite. Would not recommend even for straightforward dishes.

One of my favourite local spot in Islington in the busy Upper Street. I have been living in the area for few years now and Le Mercury is always one of my favourite place. The ambience is warm and cozy, I especially like the evenings, the only lights you have are the one from the candles making a soft but yet bright enough light. Not has “french” as before but you can still find dishes like beef bourguignon and the duck.I can see the menu has changed from the previous one paying attention in vegetarian/vegan friendly options, looks like they are experimenting with the menu and personally I like the direction is taking :)The food is yummy. The vegan satay sneakers have been widely appreciated by my meat lover friends 🌱Ste staff is friendly and attentive, a lovely experience. Will visit more often

Lovely French restaurant that we went without booking on a Friday night. The prices are super affordable for the quality and size, it was quite authentic, my ribeye steak was perfectly cooked with a flavorful peppercorn sauce, the duck was pink in the middle - but slightly overcooked on the edges although the gratin dauphinois was delicious! :) loved the lobster and crayfish raviolo but the foie gras lacked a tiny bit of taste although still enjoyable on a soft brioche bread.
