Desparado's in Islington

I asked the tall boy with the beard (who I'm guessing is the owner or at least he thinks he's someone important) about a couple of items on the menu. He seemed to have an attitude problem and refused to answer the questions adequately, as if I am supposed to know about the food they serve. After repeatedly trying and failing to get an idea of the flavour of the dishes that I was interested in, I decided to leave. If this boy does not like his job, he should find one that he does. And if you don't do something about him, you will continue to lose customers. There are numerous establishments serving excellent food all over London.

Really bad, unfortunately it was really greasy, spicy and did not taste like Mexican food. You come out of there smelling horrible. Will not recommend. Sorry - way too expensive for what it is.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go here if their looking for Mexican nachos, i tried their Grande Nachos , i read it came with bbq sauce which I thought was odd, they were filled with an overwhelming amount of bbq sauce. The meat it came with was just a steak they sliced into 5 pieces their was barely any sour cream or Guacamole. The chips aren’t normal tortilla chips they are covered with seasoning. A can of soda is £2.70, they charge a 10% service on your order. It’s obvious they don’t know what Mexican nachos are.

A mediocre margarita that was a bit too sweet for me... It's a little kitsch inside but I'm into that. Would go again but they need to turn the music down

Very nice place very cosy friendly staff. My bad I had burger in Mexican place :-) my fiend order fajitas and it was great choice ! Next time I’ll definitely try something else !

First time that I have been here and Its not a great experience. I love the food and well done to the chefs and kitchen crew but the service is terrible. The waiters are just too slow, you have to repeat your orders few times before you get it right. I doubt that I'd recommend it to anyone.

My partner and I came here on New Year’s Eve, and were very surprised to see all of these mixed reviews after we left! Service was outstanding and we felt very well cared for by staff.We had the nachos, veg enchiladas and a chicken burger and thought the food was really nice and great portions. Lovely ambience in the restaurant and once again, we were blown away by the friendly and attentive staff. We also really enjoyed the margarita pitcher.Of course, prices are about £8 - £12 a plate, but it’s hard to find anywhere in London these days that isn’t in this price range! Really enjoyed our visit.

The two completely different meals we got looked and tastes almost the same as we somewhat got the same toppings. It could be just us, I don't know. Anyway, the service was pretty bad. We left the place feeling like they didn't want to serve us which is generally not quite what you expect to feel when you go somewhere looking to spend your cash.

Quite expensive and pretty small portions. The flavours were not particularly exciting and the staff seemed too over worked to care

The service was beyond friendly!! They truly made me feel welcome. The food was good too with a special shout out for the beef fajitas. The meat was cooked perfectly 😘👌
