Gaucho - Smithfield in Islington

Had an excellent steak here today. The food and service were fantastic. This was actually a much delayed Christmas lunch with colleagues, so having paid the deposit mouths ago it also made the not insignificant bill that bit more palatable.

Walk in on a Saturday night accommodated by a lovely lady who greeted us (sorry I forgot your name but I think it was Jennifer?). We were served by Frederico who was absolutely outstanding with his recommendations. Food, wine, cocktails, atmosphere and staff all absolutely spot on.

Great food. The rump steak was superb (a cut that usually is quite tough). Service was top notch.We were served by Veselin and Arthur. Super nice, friendly and with knowledge of their trade.The only think we could suggest is hot plates instead of wood trays x the meat.Looking forward already for the next time

Was really amazing, our waiter was really nice, steak was cooked to perfection. However sticky toffee pudding was nice but was more like a sticky toffee cake. Receipe definitely needs to be altered, meant to be soft and warm. Manager did change it but still cake like rather than pudding. Overall amazing. And would definitely come back.

Very pretty ambience: dark interiors with pretty chandeliers. Visited for lunch for the set menu (this is the third gaucho I’ve visited so far). Tasty empanadas (not a huge fan of the dip though) and incredibly juicy and tender ancho ribeye steak (perfect when cooked medium-rare) paired perfectly with both chips and salad. Lovely service. 10/10would recommend.Only one con so far: I’ve ordered from this restaurant from Deliveroo a while ago and the mash somehow tasted awful (probably the worst I’ve ever had). Perhaps a cooking mistake, yet I’d definitely not recommend it as a side dish.

The food is awesome! Very good quality meat and wine. 5 stars service, thank you our waiter Vesselin! Also nice Halloween decorations.

We went here for our friends birthday, table of 8 people. Service was very good, I had the chicken which was lovely and cooked well, my husband had the lamb shank which was soft and tender. Drinks very expensive. Food also expensive but that's the price you pay. 3 stars because of the price mainly but food and service overall was nice.

Amazing dinner - especially loved the Empanadas! Thanks to the lovely waiter Marcello for the perfect service! Really enjoyed it!

The atmosphere and ambience of this place is second to none. The manager Regis and his staff are exceptional. As for the steaks they are cooked to perfection! Great place great service highly recommend.

Delicious lunch! Best steak I've ever had!! The sea bream my partner had was gorgeous as were the side dishes and starters. Fantastic service in a very relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend.
