Island Queen in Islington

I love the decor of this pub so much. It's one of my favorite cosy spots in London. But sadly the prices just keep creeping up and up. £6.30 for a pint of larger is more expensive than Central London. The Prime Steak burger at £14 was dry, underseasoned and pretty bogstandard. Staff don't seem to stay long either. Feels like something is amiss. Owners/management need ro step up!

Lovely classic pub for Sunday roast. Recommend the squid and brownie for dessert.

Beautiful pub. Nice service. All the food was overcooked, dry chicken etc. Excellent venue for a drink and chat.

We organised a birthday celebration at the upstairs room and had a super night. The guests enjoyed the food, drink and music (our own playlist) and the cosy atmosphere of the room. Leigh and his team were helpful and responsive to all our requests and the night flew by in an enjoyable blur.

We have had the most wonderful lunch at The Island Queen today. Amazing food, staff and atmosphere. The pub did everything to make my 60th birthday celebration with my family very special. The food was hot and plentiful and we all ate at the same time. 24 of us so no mean feat! The staff worked so hard while we all enjoyed the moment ! . Not everyone had the roast so our menu was very varied. Steak/Fish and Chips/ Burgers as well as starters. Portions very generous and totally good value for the money. Many thanks to the whole team. Hope you each enjoyed my birthday cake! Well deserved. A very chilled out and relaxing day. Will definitely be back and soon. X

I had the best experience here last night, the lady who must have been the manager came over as one of the foods I ordered was out of stock. She couldn't have been more helpful, apologised profusely and offered options as replacement. The food that came out was really lovely, too. Great service ❤️

We had such a wonderful time at The Island Queen for our private hire event in the upstairs Gin Lounge.The staff could not be more friendly and accommodating, the buffet food was amazing (and plentiful - incredible value!).We have been somewhat regulars to the Island Queen for the past almost-decade, be it for the pub quiz or after-work drinks and events. We love the atmosphere, and are so glad to be back - thank you for helping to make our celebration perfect!

My husband and I ambled along to this delightful pub on our wedding anniversary on 14 July. So pleased we did. The pub looked very inviting and on entering ,the lovely bar was dressed with flowers and plants and looked stunning. We sat at table 7 and ordered some drinks and food. We tried the onion tart and this was beautifully presented. We spoke to the bar man Dan and he beckoned Marius who prepared the food to come out and speak to us. Such a lovely man and a great chef and very personable.OUR LOCAL PUB CLOSED DOWN IN THE PANDEMIC SO IT HAS BEEN REALLY LOVELY TO FIND ANOTHER PUB THAT WE ENJOYED GOING INTO.We had a stroll down to the pub again today and met Lee the manager who is really nice and we enjoyed sitting at table 7 and having a few drinks. We had a lovelytime and will be coming here more often. Thank you for looking after us.

It's a gorgeous hidden little gem 🖤💎🖤... with lush, authentic art deco decor - right next to some charming canal walks. Amazing staff too - so relaxed yet professional, knowledgeable and helpful. They have excellent safety measures in place and delightful food! We had an amazing time and it was so much more affordable than the high Street. I've been popping in since I lived up the Rd 10 years ago - so pleased it's still OK.
