Italian Deli Lamezia in Islington

As a frequent patron whose husband hails from Lamezia Terma in Italy, and after which this restaurant is named, I'm delighted to attest to the quality and authenticity of this amazing little establishment. Rustic and intimate with attentive staff who make you feel like visiting family, the food is exactly what you would expect it to taste like on the continent. Fresh ingredients, herbs and spices, an original and creative menu to suit all, whether it be a pasta dish or pizza,I promise you will have a memorable, Italian experience x

Myself, my dad and my little boy had the most wonderful lunch and today at Lamezia, a lovely family run restaurant with the most delicious food. They couldn’t have done more to ensure we felt comfortable and enjoyed our visit. I couldn’t recommend them more highly. Can’t wait to visit again.

One of the best Italian restaurants I came across in London!! Would highly recommend coming here to eat fresh pasta, pizza, seafood, and everything else that’s authentically Italian👑 I cannot wait to be back!! Next time I’ll make sure to leave some room for dessert as the dessert menu looks as amazing👌🏼

The best pizza in Holloway if not in London! Pepperoni pizza for the win always. The family who run this little gem are so kind and welcoming!

What a great restaurant we came here after reading previous reviews on Google and we definitely were not disappointed. it is a family run business with authentic Italian food we also got to meet the family and it honestly feels like you're on holiday whilst in the restaurant. my one recommendation is to speak to your server and ask them what you want and how the dish comes because this is an authentic Italian restaurant the food is proper Italian. so if you like your pasta well done or al dente then it would be better to let them know how you would like it done. overall we had a great visit really friendly staff and would definitely go back if we were in the area thank you.

Very tasty and delicious Italian food! You could feel that everything was handmade and fresh, one of the best pizzas I had. If you got a sweet tooth and like Nutella a lot please order some Nutella Calzone. Also, it’s important to mention hazelnut ice cream!

One of my favorite Italian restaurant in Islington:) cheap, always space for you and just delicious pasta! Those crab raviolis and the lasagna are to die for! I always go there for a mid-week dinner:)

Incredible all round! Family run place means that everything is done with such love and purpose. Freshly made pasta and delicious pizza! They even have vegan mozzarella. My fave dish is the butternut squash tortellini and my partners is the pepperoni pizza. Can't wait to go back!

I was invited to try out the new menu additions at Lamezia. Maria recently took over the restaurant from her parents and has made some changes to update the offerings.The restaurant itself is a cosy family business with cute decorations and a distinctly Italian flair. The menu is, of course, heavy in pasta and pizza options. I tried the burrata starter, which was absolutely perfect, as well as the two new pizza crusts, turmeric and wheat & hemp. The turmeric crust is lightly yellow and has a very mild turmeric flavour, it went really well with the truffle and cheese toppings. The hemp crust has a more earthy taste and looks slightly greenish. It's definitely a more savoury crust, and combined with the toppings of the Fiorentina I ordered, it was absolutely delicious. Both crusts were perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, traditional thin Italian pizza at its best! I'd definitely recommend the hemp crust, it was very enjoyable and a little different to the usual fare.I also got to try a few bites of the filled gnocchi, and these were spectacular! Be aware that filled pasta dishes are usually a little smaller than other dishes, so it's not a huge portion, but the gnocchi were so delicious and melt-in-your-mouth soft! Everyone at the table absolutely loved these.Service was also very friendly and professional, the only thing that I wasn't impressed with was how long it took to cook the food. Our starters arrived quickly, but pizza and pasta took over half an hour after we were done with the starters, which indicates to me that the order wasn't processed until after our starters were done. This huge gap between starters and mains was a little annoying, but other than that it was a perfect evening!
