Really nice atmosphere with a pianist and double bass player - diner with candlestick. The food was delicious and good value for money! Highly recommended!

If you book with this restaurant call and check if they can actually accommodate you and not mess your night up at the last moment.Booked a month in advance for a day after valentines dinner to get a call ON THE DAY of booking and be told they are overbooked and can only give us a table at 9pm which leaves us with rushed dinner (for as can be seen from menus quite high price) and hours of waiting time before it.Very unprofessional and upsetting considering it was done on one of the busiest night of the year leaving you with no option but take your dinner to home.I believe the food and life music experience they provide is beautiful but put us off for a while to try and book again .

Good atmosphere with live piano and great classic French dishesWe took the steak with French fries and lettuce as main, really delicious! The mussels as a starter were great, the Tartiflette was just about average. Wine choice is limited but with some interesting bottles (although the name of the region/type of wine should be added to the description rather than just the name of the producer).Only true negative point is the restaurant closes quite early (9.30pm/10pm max) and we were very encouraged to leave (waitress made it obvious already during the main dish). We found it a bit inappropriate considering the price level of the restaurant.Overall pleasant place, worth trying

I so wish there was a six star opportunity when something is so outstanding like this restaurant. Everything was amazing and to taste. Although hidden away it is well worth the search. They have 2 or 3 course meal deals or item by item. The wine and champagne that I both had were outstanding selection by the staff. Very romantic and intermittent. One of the place places I have EVER eaten. And they had live music on a Thursday night.

Had the cod with risotto and it was amazing. Fish cooked beautifully and amazing flavours. The restaurant is lovely and staff friendly. The whole experience was lovely and will be coming back!

Went today, 28th September for lunch, had a superb meal. We had the lamb rump which melted in your mouth and the plum tart was amazing. Not the cheapest lunch but the quality of the food justifies the price, highly recommend.

Took my French friend to this beautiful restaurant tucked in a lovely mews in Charterhouse Square and we both loved it. What’s not to love. Beautiful romantic ambience, dim lights and candle lit tables in traditional French decor style, live Piano music / and jazz. Staff very friendly, professional and attentive.Food was glorious. Beautifully cooked, fresh, tasty and served neatly. Everything was perfect and I am certainly going back again!

A really lovely Saturday evening in Cafe du Marche tucked away in a corner of historic Charterhouse Square. I had fish soup to start which was superb with smoked haddock on a bed of spinach with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. Was a little nervous about ordering the latter but it was really tasty. The atmosphere was fantastic with Mario on the double base along with the pianist, the evening flew by. Cannot wait to go back. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Gorgeous and rustic looking French restaurant only minutes away from historic Smithfield Market in Barbican/Farringdon. Perfect for date night and special occasions such as weddings. Upstairs can be hired for private events. Food, needless to say, is excellent - hearty rustic French haute cuisine.

What a lovely French restaurant, it is off the beaten but well worth a visit. We went for a relative's birthday and so glad we did. First plus point, little dogs are welcome.Second plus point, the servers are friendly, attentive and I genuinely believe they wanted to please us. Which they did!I started with a lovely fish soup, personally thing it should have been seasoned slightly more. To follow, I had the lobster tail tagliatelle, which was fresh and light. No dessert for me.I would highly recommend the restaurant and it was not too expensive.
