Great pub generally.Today was somewhat another experience. This guy working behind the bar working with heads phones on and chewing gum really put me off, if I see him inside against, Ill walk back out..Blonde/white hair lady ineta as it said on the receipt was lovely did check back on food, felt looked after with her.But omg this guy made so much noise and so mad, he threw glasses into the glass bin on multiply occasions and the whole pub stopped and froze.Constantly on his phone in that section near the stairs to the toilets.Had very little chat.Ordered my drink and he handed it to me without saying thank you or your welcome, just gave the drink and walked off.All through out the night he looked as if he had given up.Overall experience not good. When the lady with the black hair who is assume is in charge is all ga11qfood. Also I must say I liked how ineta layed my table.Every thing he did after 11pm when closing the bar was soo loud, chucking ice away sooo loud. Kicked the chair next to me, washing all the jiggers and taking back to the bar and making a huge noise.Food a bit disappointing compared to last week.Received cabbage in place of coleslaw and the given explanation that the chefs changed it from time to time but it was literally red cabbage. Wasnt at the end of the end world as I really like rawish cabbage, was just the response to me which was fake or whatever reason (I know the way chefs are)Was put off the veggie burger after this as I didnt know If the chef decided the change my food item depending on his mood, did not finish the burger. Will return when the lady with black hair is in, never had a problem when she is there.

Had an amazing pork belly roast at the weekend, the crackling was the best I've had. Also highly recommended the beef cheek croquettes. 👌

It’s disappointing to have to give this once wonderful pub a low score. We were served by an individual who was indifferent at best and the food was not up to its usual standard. The miso aubergine was uninspired and tasteless, and expensive at £16 for half an aubergine and a few cubes of feta.

Absolutely fantastic pub! We had our sons christening, and my birthday at the Palmerston. The staff are friendly and accommodating, Nicola was superb, she and her colleagues looked after us all throughout - we will be back! (for my mums 70th)

This is a beautifully decorated pub, with not one but two open fireplaces and a nice private back garden / courtyard with seating for smokers. The triple cooked chips are fantastic and the staff welcoming and friendly. Comfortable and cosy - recommended!

Just moved to the area and wanted to sample my new local! Service was a little bizarre, food was slow and arrived burnt / overcooked (all 4 dishes). Was also expensive for what it was at £80 for 3 people (3x main dishes, a side and 3 drinks). Will not be returning, sadly.

The holidays were a bit strange for us this year as for many but it was so nice to treat ourselves to a gorgeous meal here on Christmas Day. The staff were so friendly and there was a really warm atmosphere among the clientele. For me, the star of the show was the duck. Absolutely gorgeous. Our other main the halibut was delicious too but could have done with crispier skin. Overall, we really enjoyed our food. I'll happily come back to scoff more of it 😋

I didn’t like my roast lamb - it was chewy, the roast potatoes were not crispy on the outside, the veg was not nice. However, the Yorkshire pudding was lovely. The staff were lovely and did well to attend to a large party that included young children. My friends seemed to like their meals.

Lovely pub, good range of drinks and great food, should have been busier than it was!

Had a lovely night in the beer garden (Thurs evening). Pub was nice and busy. Drinks selection good. App easy to use. Staff friendly. Booked a table which I recommend because it was busy. Good covid measures in place. Its a great local pub with nice outside spaces. Door a teeny bit hard to get in and toilets upstairs being the only downside but they aren't deal breakers.
