Mediterranean Breeze in Islington

Uk is an island but it is not that easy to find a good and honest restaurant that serves fresh fish. Well, this one it is. And if that wasn’t enough, the owner, Tony, made us feel like we were at his home. Such a lovely place. Give it a go and automatically you’ll keep this place in “that restaurant list” you keep recommending.

I saw a board outside saying "daily fresh oysters" oh well.. let's give it a try.... when I stepped in I noticed this is was a Turkish family business so lovely they made welcome. I felt like home. As I always dinning on rushed high streets was like what a difference.Wine list is Small which is all Turkish wine. I never had in my life I can tell it was really nice, oak, close to mine chardonnay.Incredibly quality seafood yes fresh. The oysters are lovely, grilled sea bass on bone and the prawns cocktail, Also the desert was absolutely nice. I highly recommend this restaurant. This comes from someone whos run a Mitchelin start restaurant in Central West End.

Thanks for your reply. I have removed my review as I’m no longer sure it is true; now that a third member of our family who didn’t eat with us has also become ill, I think that what we initially took to be food poisoning may in fact be gastric flu. My apologies!

An amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere! I've been there first time for my friend birthday they did everything to make us happy and the food is stunning! If you are ever in the area go and say hi that beautiful people! And just make sure you ordered Hamsi :)

Always an exceptional meal in this Turkish fish restaurant. Oysters were lovely and fresh, the roast sea bream was wonderful, and the sides - creamed spinach and tricolore - were all very tasty. I'm not a huge dessert person, but I have to say I really enjoyed the stewed quince and baklava for dessert. I look forward to returning again and again to this friendly restaurant.

Mediterranean Breeze will provide you with the best fresh and expertly cooked fish in London, accompanied by generous servings of delicious salad, and fabulous chips and all brought to your table by wonderfully helpful, caring and affectionate host. I urge you to try it. My husband and I had a fantastic dinner there last night, in fact the sardines I ordered were so fresh, plump, and well grilled (crunchy skin and plump, and juicy inside and covered with garlic) that I ate absolutely everything, including the heads and the bones! and my husband delighted in his whole sea bass too. We can´t remember the last time we enjoyed a meal of such fresh fish in London, and we´ve lived here for over 25 years. Thank you Toni, you are a lovely man, and the people working in your kitchen are experts at their jobs. Looking forward to coming back already. The rose was a marvelous touch too, and I´m still smiling.

Very nice family-style cafe. The waiter mentioned which fish is the freshest on the day and the seabass that I ordered was indeed delicious and fresh. Decent warm bread served with every dish.

Amazing from start to finish.When of the friendliest staff service I received on my journey of eating at as many places as possible to me.Fresh refreshing light bread to start the meal.Had some calamari with a light crispy coating which was very nice.The oysters are amazing. Couldn't get enough of it. So yes, we ordered another 12 for dessert and we could have got more.The mains we got some salmon which was coated in a devil sauce (tomato base with a hint of chilli) which was soft and tasted delicious.Lamb chops with chips (swapped out the rice) and a salad. All round a very satisfying dish.After ordering oysters twice we ended off the meal with a nice Turkish tea.Location is very good and easy to travel to. Pricing, very well priced. Would I go here again? Yes I can 100% recommend this place, I will be going again.

So good. I told all my friends about it! The owners made you feel right at home. Lovely people all around. The food from starter to mains were an absolute delight and you can really tell that the fish was fresh. Best part were the oysters. Affordable and delicious!

Extremely friendly owner, more than happy to accommodate your requests. Food was decent, decor makes you feel like your in a small island fishing restaurant; which is a great respite from London for a an hour or so. Come hungry the portions are substantial.
