Oriental Gourmet in Islington

I went in there and paid £4 for salt and pepper chips, they gave me a small portion, for £4 I could have gone to the turkish cafe and had a nice, big portion which would have helped my hunger and the lady was very rude, it seemed like she didn't like me and wanted to get rid of me and obviously I will not be going back there again.

The food was excellent. The fish sharing platter for the starter was incredible. The portion sizes were very big. We went on a match day so service was a little slow and we were in a rush - any other day and it would have been perfect

I just want to spend a couple of minutes praising this business. The owner (a lady) warmly welcome me and look after me. The Pad Thai I ordered was beyond delicious, it was literally a delightful experience dining in this very traditional Chinese restaurant. I will definitely come back more often as I work in Holloway Rd now. Thank you so much for everything. Oh also, I paid card (with no issue) a very good price:)

The layered hot pot was delicious and so full of food! Plus the prawns and frog legs were fried to be crispy which was amazing ☺️ Had a really great experience last night and will definitely return!Spoke to the chef too and he was super friendly

Delicious frog leg dish. Would have marked 1 star down for the waitress’s poor service, but the owner is super friendly which makes up for it. Thank you, would revisit again!

Pleasantly surprised - finally a takeaway Chinese that was super tasty, arrived in a reasonable time, offered good portions, and had lots of choice; both authentic food and the classic staples (and gave me free prawn crackers). We had stir fried beef with black pepper & honey, vermicelli noodles with minced pork, sweet & sour chicken and satay chicken. The fiesta two are spicy by the way! I'll definitely order from here again.

Was overpriced for what it was. I had the dry pot tower which costed £125 in total for 3 people. They only take cash and still add 10% service charge! I also got stomachache afterwards

Our regular Chinese closed a few years ago ( Chinese chef) and we have been looking/ trying to find a replacement ever since. Well, finally we did! And it's more or less on our door step! You know that the food is going to be good when it is full of the local Chinese community.The food is so tasty, can't wait to go back. The waitress was so lovely, very funny and helpful, she even gave us a lovely plate of watermelon to eat whilst we waited for our order. You won't be disappointed.

Food is just amazing. The restaurant owner is also super friendly and accommodating. This copper hotpot is my favourite!!!
