Nice pub. Believe it is run as a charity. Quite basic, but has a real fireplace and cheap for London prices.

Nice pub great selection of beers. Bit on the expensive side but you pay the money as the quality of the beer and pub are so good. Staff very knowledgeable.

Had a really lovely time at this pub. We booked a table for a large party and we were catered for very well. The staff were very attentive, the food was delicious and it was a lovely Christmas atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Definitely go on a Sunday for the roast.

The scotch egg was -by a distance- the best I've ever had. Vegetarian roast was sublime. Nice selection of draught beers. Highly recommend.

Really wanted to like this pub's food.. Its close to home and the pub itself its beautiful and a nice place to have some drinks with friends. The food however wasn't up to standard. The fish and chips was OKish but nothing special. The mushy peas were too liquid (I guess that is up to preference?), the chips seemed cooked from frozen. The fish itself was good. The duck dish was the worst of the two. While the sides and sauce were very good, the duck itself was dry and overcooked, there was no pink left (which you would expect in a duck breast). The drinks were good. I had wine and my partner a beer.

My husband and I ambled to this wonderful pub on Friday at around 2 pm and it was the first time my husband has walked inside this venue. From the moment we entered this pub it had such a lovely ambience,we thought we were in the country. The decor is quite stunning and the care and attention was lovely. We met Harry who manages this great pub. Harry was so kind and welcoming and my husband felt so comfortable that we stayed for quite a while. I ordered some food. It was the Duck dish and I also had a lovely side dish of tomatoes with a wonderful dressing. Our friend Michael joined us and we were all very impressed with the feel of this place and the architecture and cleanliness. Michael has managed two pubs in Islington and with his knowledge Michael said how impressed he was with the Sekforde. My lunch was outstanding and I saw the chef as he came out to talk to Harry. This is the best pub in the area and we will be back very soon. Thank you so much Harry - you made our afternoon and this review we are giving the Sekforde is so well deserved. We noticed dogs are also welcome. It is so lovely to find a really good pub since our local closed for good in the pandemic.

🚇 Farringdon🍺 £5.00 Pravha❤️ I have quite a lot of pubs on my must visit list, so many in fact I know I’ll never get to visit them all in my lifetime. So with that in mind, you have to prioritise things you do and which places you must visit. The Sekforde has been on my radar for some time, so as soon as lockdown was eased I thought to myself I must visit. As I approached up charming Sekforde Street soaking up the grandeur of the area, you get the feeling you’re in for a real treat. On arriving here I instantly fell in love with the place.. You feel like you have been transported back in time to the Victorian era and you would think the pub has just opened for business. This boozer is stunning but simple, classy but classless at the same time. The decor is traditional with dark wood panelling and dark wood furniture with a couple of tasteful paintings on the wall. The attention to detail here is meticulous, someone has put alot of soul and love in to creating and maintaining the standard. I visited on a Saturday lunchtime and pretty much had the place to myself apart from a Russian guy sitting outside bellowing down the phone in his mother tongue, regardless of this it didn’t spoil the quaint atmosphere and amazing ambience. Covid measures were in place which was track and trace and table service. The beer was good and reasonably priced at a fiver, the food menu had all your traditional pub favourites on it which were also fairly priced. The footprint of the pub is quite small which gives it a cosy and intimate feel, there are also several benches outside if you want to catch a few rays and admire the Victorian architecture..I was so impressed with the beauty of this boozer, I decided to visit with the lads two weeks later. I have been to many a handsome pubs over the years but I’m not sure I’ve visited one as elegant as this before..📊 Information correct on visiting 18/07/20.

I had a wonderful time at with my friends at the The Sekforde last night and met some new ones too. The owner of this pub is lovely, friendly and welcoming, as are his staff.Service was attentive and friendly. The pub building dates back to the early 1800s and had been beautifully maintained.Good selection of beers on tap including Delerium Tremens which is quite rare for london. Will be returning to try the food!

Excellent decor and ambience. Decent roast dinner although you can get a roast dinner of almost similar quality nearby a lot cheaper. Service was excellent, staff are well trained and friendly.
