I’m a local and have been here quite a few times. The food and ambiance is good but the service is lacking professionalism for what you pay. They’re always late to take orders and the food takes 40+ minutes to come out for a group of 4.I was mostly surprised by my recent experience with one of their barkeeps where I asked for a glass of “house” Pinot and Chardonnay along with one pint and coke. After I’ve handed the round to my friends, he hits me with a £37 bill, which I was surprised to see for 3 drinks and a soda in a pub. When I asked him for a itemized bill and asked why he served me a £12/glass wine. He said they don’t have those as house options. I did vocalize that he should have told me that, but he then raised his voice at me and gave me attitude. Not wanting cause a fuss in front of my friends, I let it go. But when I told the manager later on who knew exactly who it was and then simply said “sorry for the inconvenience”. Nothing comped, no actual effort made to resolve it. Nothing. That’s what prompted me to write this review. Absolutely terrible customer service and makes a local not want to come back. It’s not that hard to be polite.

Beautiful pub/restaurant, 2 fireplaces in the front, massive and very pretty back garden. I had the beef Sunday roast and it was good, but they only served 2 slices of beef with it and they were very fine and not really sufficient. I’m rarely one to complain about portions but it was a bit surprising, same for the leg of lamb. Will return for a drink or another meal but not the roast.

Really nice pub, romantic vibe in the evening. Delicious roast.

The place is really nice. But the roast pork needed to have more flavour.

Very impressed with this pub. Great inside space. Everything a traditional pub should be - candle light, roaring fire and comfy seats. Lots of space both inside and out. Mellow soul music playing added to the relaxed chatty vibe. Landlady wasn't the most outgoing but this didn't detract from the experience. Would love to come back and try the food. Even have their own Albion beer which I am informed is brewed by The Lanes Brewery.

Lovely pub with very well thought out outside space. Very young crowd on a Saturday night. Food was OK - nothing special - expensive for what it was - you are paying for the area! Burger was dry and really nothing special - for £16 I wanted a little bit of elegance. Other diners very happy with their meals. Staff rushed off their feet but friendly and attentive.

Got seated outside by a cold heater. Asked if there was any table available inside and was told no.Saw that a table inside was empty the whole time we were sat outside.we ordered beef Wellington roast. They got the order wrong and brought out sirloin. We had ordered a side of cauliflower and asked them to bring that out while they remade our roast. They didn’t.We were very hungry by the time our food came and the restaurant offered nothing for the inconvenience or for the delay.Best to avoid

Best pub to get through the winter. Get a table by the fireplace and window. Amazing fish and chips, great mushy peas and also a huge heated garden in the back to grab a drink.

·

Lovely pub with character. We sat inside, and the tables are well spaced out. Had Sunday roast (beef) - delicious, sizeable portion of meat, however the veges were on the scarce side. Staff are very friendly and the service prompt.

Amazing Sunday Roast! We had the beef and it was delicious. The pub is so lovely and the staff were very friendly. 10000000% recommend the roast!
