The Castle in Islington

Marcela was very nice and our food came quickly. The food was incredible and our service couldn’t have been better. Definitely will be back!

Me and my family had a Christmas sit down meal about 40 of us so quite big! Everyone working Sunday night were so fantastic the Service was impeccable! Food was delicious and everyone of us has such a wonderful time thanks for making it so special :)

Lovely pub. Good music. Good choice of drinks and really good staff. Been in the last 3 nights and the lovely Marcela has remembered my face every time and been a total star.

Thank you for the best birthday! The team were very helpful from the beginning to the end!! Cocktails were perfect and the Canapé food was delicious, we got a lot more than we thought. A night to remember 🎉🎉

Nice roof terrace with an adjacent upstairs bar.Good drinks selection. Friendly staff. Table service, which is particularly good to have during these times.Food seemed good. We only got bits to share but we got more than we expected for what we paid.The bathroom wasn't great. One stall and it was broken so it was lucky I didn't need it. The bathrooms also have a monopoly theme which I didn't quite get. Is it because Angel Islington is on the monopoly board? The pub's called The Castle, though. Maybe I'm missing something.

The guy with the “crazy shirt” was a credit to this place. Friendly, accommodating, smiling and always happy to help. Food was overpriced for what it was; hummus and bloomer was dry, loaded fries were okay. Burger doesn’t come with chips/fries, so expect to pay £14+ for burger + fries. Good atmosphere; would return for drinks but based on this experience wouldn’t return for food.

Had a lovely meal and a few drinks to celebrate a birthday. The chef was so friendly and personally came and spoke to us about the menu - he’s a credit to the pub! The pork belly was cooked to perfection. We were really pleased to see so many vegan/veggie options on the menu and wouldn’t have chosen this pub had there not been this choice as one of our party is a veggie - she thoroughly enjoyed the veggie skewers! Would definitely recommend for food and for cocktails.

This is a mainstay pub in the area that provides a welcoming atmosphere. The venue is closed inside, which makes it intimate in its setting. The outdoor setting in the entrance and on the rooftop provides a different atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive. It attracts a young crowd looking to socialise. There are TVs for watching sport, but depending on the event it seems out of place. The toilet facilities are kept reasonably clean. There is a good variety of drinks on offer. The cocktails are quite sharp and not as flavoursome as other venues. The food is great and perfect for sharing. A wonderful pub and comes highly recommended.

Staff were very accommodating when I asked for a specific mocktail they don't usually offer (they do have non-alcohol beers etc though).They had no problem with whipping it up for me which is really sweet as I was driving and just wanted a cute cocktail rather than coca cola all night 😂.Wish I hadn't eaten before going out because the food looked great, will definitely be returning to try the food.In all had a great night, staff waiting on us where friendly and had a good sense of humour.I'm not the kind of person that tends to take pictures on a night out, but couldn't resist one of the loos, they were just cute!🤣

The most gorgeous little pub terrace! The food was DELICIOUS. My boyfriend got the pork and I got the beef - both out of this world. The staff was incredibly lovely and friendly. Overall a great night.
