The Star Of Kings in Islington

Although this place wasn't particularly crowded when I visited there wasn't any available seats inside. There are more outside seats, OK when the weather isn't too cold/wet. They had a very good selection of real ales/bitters, regular guest ales. The chocolate porter was incredibly nice. Prices are on average in keeping with this upmarket area, slightly high. All in all a good experience.

Very much a dive bar type pub. Popped into this on Saturday night not having any idea of the vibe and it was definitely loud. Turns out it's got the chance for everyone and anyone to do karaoke which we were indifferent about but can't see it being for everyone. Need to be quite drunk here in my opinion. Smelt of stale pub but had decent selection and was fairly priced.

The food was really excellent, I had the spicy drunken noodles and so so good. But when I went to the bar, twice I was waiting, alone, once for 15 mins and another time for 10. The staff were really nice when they did serve me but I felt invisible as people who clearly came up after me were getting served before, so that was disappointing.

We booked the karaoke room for a party of 16. It was great fun and the staff were lovely and helpful. Booking process was easy and smooth and it's more reasonably priced than karaoke at other places.

What a great find! This pub is within easy walking distance of Kings Cross St Pancras. A warm welcome by the lady behind the bar who actively informed me of the wide ranging beer choices. I received some great advice on what to taste. Perfect place to come for a beer and food. Whilst I didn't stay for it they clearly have a lot of evening events, from comedy to karaoke, which are hosted in a separate function room. Lots of character and a lively atmosphere.

Very disappointing - the food was barely warm, oily and a lot of people (including us) had to complain about the quality! No discount given though.The floors were very sticky and the plates were left on the table after dinner for ages.Then biggest disappointment was the fact that we were charged £129 for 4 Sunday roast meals + 2 bottles of wine (one of which was supposed to be included in the meal £29) and 5 pints Guinness (even though we only had 3!)When I queried the bill she said ‘I though it wasn’t right’ and informed me it was too long and difficult to return my money via my card but I could have cash - £20 was returned not £29 and I didn’t realise about the Guinness until much later.The only think I would recommend was our company - always a pleasure - just need a better venue!

Celebrated a friend's 30th Birthday here. Great venue. We had the down stairs space which has a bar down there. Staff helpful and polite. Would visit again.

Very accommodating for people who are wheelchair bound, with a great selection of different beers.Location is close enough to Kings Cross to be easily walkable. Food looked good but didn't have anything major, but you're in walking distance of Granary Square so won't starve if you're looking to eat elsewhere.Staff very pleasant, and looking to serve you even when it's manic and they could be tempted to go a little slower.

Manager Emily was very polite and when I told her I was worried a bout a previous bad review I found online, she apologized, gave a reasonable explanation and made sure everything was clean, ready and in working order for our Karaoke time. She also gave us extra time since we started a bit late. They brought food to us as well and had a laugh and joked with the group. Very friendly. The Karaoke machine and mics worked fine as well so it was a great and fun experience. Massive song selection! We also booked tables before and after singing and everything was in order. All in all, a great night!

Friendly staff. Excellent location, just 5 mins walk from the station. More than decent food and a fine selection of draft beers. Lovely vibes and atmosphere.I would have been expecting a more excellent selection of draft beers, and the toilets need an improvement or more care.Downstairs there is a comedy club.
