Three Compasses in Islington

Came here because it was close to my hotel. Do not recommend for anything other than a drink. Food was flavorless and lukewarm. Service was fine and bathrooms were very clean, which is why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2.

Friendly clean quick service for a diet coke before a client meeting which was running late.

Very nice pub with friendly staff and a nice layout which is roomy and airy. Good atmosphere inside & near Farringdon Station. I will go again....definately!

Sweet potato fried a bit soggy but otherwise food was fine.

Had a wonderful evening there, solely because of the bartender Alan. He was attentive, funny, warm and made the evening fantastic. He was quick with drinks, very charismatic and was chatty, without being imposing. We loved the service and it's been a long time since I had that level of service in London, without being in a high end cocktail bar or in New York. Will definitely go back just for him and the service he provided.

Had the express lunch chicken pad Thai. Although it tasted alright, the chicken pieces were very dry. This leads me to suspect the chicken was precooked and kept in a container somewhere. It spoiled the overall taste of the dish.

Pub is nice. I wouldn't bother with the Thai restaurant upstairs. Food was average and there was only one waitress, who despite her good effort and nice manner, could not serve the food within an acceptable time frame.

Ordered a set menu meal, perfect for dinner-for-one!
