What a fantastic place. Stopped for lunch today and was warmly greeted by the owner. He quickly sat us and brought us water and kindly offered a nice glass of wine (for which we declined because it was a little too early for that). Instead of bringing a menu over he just asked what type of food we preferred and he said he would bring his recommendations. What a home run that was! Beef Satay was the first dish and he insisted we eat them while they were piping hot! Was he right. VERY delicious! He then brought out some prawn dish that seemed to me to be like a spring roll that was just had a prawn inside. He told us his son eats about 20 of these in one sitting. After tasting it we could see why! Our main entree was a beef, basil and garlic dish. It had a nice spice and was so fresh and healthy. He explained they were redoing the bar area with beautiful couches and new bar stools. Can't wait to take him up on his offer of a free drink at the bar next time we come. We will definitely be there!

Great service and great food. My girlfriend is fussy about garlic and spicy things but it was handled it very well and adapted for us. Perfect evening. I am local and drive past all the time - I never came in before but will definitely add it to my regular spots. I am sitting at my table right now and I read the other reviews 😂 Most of them good but a few people upset at about how they treat people with discount cards. If they get fussy about promotions maybe they shouldn't do them but I had a wonderful experience. Just finished dinner and will recommend to my friends.

This Thai restaurant often gas a few tables full whenever I walk past with a sign outside offering cheap prix fixe lunch menu at under £10. It is tasty and of adequate quality to have for a quick lunch, but nothing to remember the restaurant by. In comparison to other Thai restaurants I have been to (and those ran by Thai nationals) the food here often tastes similar. Although the ingredients look different, the sauces are often the same and portions small. The decor is also in dire need of renewal as the current setting reminds one of restaurants from 1980s. If you're looking for a tasty lunch at a budget price give it a try, but if you aim to have authentic Thai cuisine try somewhere else.

There is this irritable pathetic mature looking man who claims to be the owner. I have never seen so rude, impolite man ever. We are vegetarians and when asked about the options, he answered quite arrogantly. Plus when we ordered a soup, guess what, there was chicken swimming in it !! Plus he never apologized#NeverGoingthere.

Blue Lagoon is a rather high brow restaurant, the type where you have to be seated and there are proper napkins. The menu isn’t vast however there are good choices with vegetarian meals, fish and more on offer. The staff are all clearly very well trained and the prices reasonable. Good music plays in the background, the lighting is soft and the whole dining experience has been extremely pleasurable for us on numerous occasions.

I would give the Blue Lagoon 2 ½ stars.I've dined there before, several years ago, and it was clearly enjoyable. The dishes were flavorful and colourful, and they went down well. The meal portions were of reasonable value for the customer, and satisfactory. The manager, I recall, was a jovial man, and he put a positive image of the restaurant in my mind.Years on returning with three others, I was met with bad changes. Obviously, a few years can change an establishment, but some changes are inexcusable.Firstly, I noted the affable manager had gone. Nothing necessarily wrong there, but how would the restaurant hold? The food portions were small. By London standards, they would probably fall just under "normal" sized. For a four-way share, there was just enough for everyone, but two in our company don't eat so much. A different crowd would have have needed to order more. Sharing almost seemed discouraged. Don't expect generous portions. But even so, small portions are excusable. What was not excusable, and what was even offensive, was the dishes lack in protein sustenance.Take, our chicken stir-fry, Pad ma muang. Sad to say, but it contained the most measly, stingy slithers of chicken-coup quality fowl breast I have ever encountered: about 5 thin strips in a portion for two. We were shocked. Digging for the rest of the chicken revealed two ½ pieces more, revealing a total of six chicken slithers in the dish. The rest of the bowl was vegetable filler. This was unimpressive. The mising of “meat” continued with the prawn curry. It was blessed with a total of five prawns. Five! Had they been prawns of the tiger-sized variety, or slightly less, there would be little cause for concern, but these were your regular ASDA self-stocked everyday-use prawns. On average, everyone ate two prawns (there were others in the noodle dish), two stingy strips of chicken breast, and a feast of vegetable. One glance at the table, you'd think it was a vegetarian order.Unfortunately, the highlight of the meal was the Pad ki mao, (a spicy noodle dish). Think about that. Noodles.Even without savoring ever Thai restaurant in Central London, doubtless one can find several that do not necessarily suffer from these (stingy) issues. I must point out though that despite the protein deficiency, the dishes TASTED very nice (if not altogether similar tasting). The restaurant also has good ambiance. And as a note, the waitress staff were very, very sweet...I think with some serious adjustment to it's food portions, presentation, and sustenance, The Blue Lagoon could very well leave customers better satisfied with their value for money, as well as their hunger.

Food was excellent but the service was bad. The fault in their payment machine forced me to leave the license at desk to fetch cash as they suspect foul play. You would expect a restaurant of that standard to have some level of customer service.

I absolutely loved the food here, by far the best in the area despite the competition. Would definitely recommend it to a friend. Wonderful ambiance and a wonderful evening.

I tried to book a table for my boyfriend's Birthday and asked the manager/owner if we could use two tastecards as there were 8 of us coming. At first he agreed but then quickly changed his mind and got quite annoyed that I had asked the question, I then calmly and politely advised him that that this wasn't a problem and that there was no need for him to get annoyed/angry or rude to which he began to shout 'Well i'm being rude now because you said i was being rude' he then told me to go eat somewhere else and hung up, because I clearly wasn't allowed to tell him not to get angry. I've never dealt with a more rude/aggresive manager in my whole life and just want to warn you of the experience I had. It's usually the customer who loses their temper if they're angry or annoyed but this was the complete other way round. I live close to the Blue Lagoon in Kensington but will certainly be choosing another Thai restaurant to book tables at from now on. If a manager can treat customers like that how on earth does he treat his staff members? I do feel sorry for them.

Great local, food is excellent. The head waiter has a sense of humor that is a bit like marmite which I really appreciate.
