I was there last week with my friends, on Saturday (after visiting the design museum) the cafe looked appealing from the outside. It didn't seem that busy, but the service was terrible and only three staff members one of which was the manager. At least three tables with dirty dishes on them, the one poor waitress was running around in a panic and had to take our order twice in the space of five minuets. We eventually got our over priced coffee and cakes which were at best "just ok". Long storey short we left and had a great Italian pizza across the road despite not having a coffee at the pizza I imagine it would be a better choice. I did feel bad for the waitress.

Went for lunch and they had pretty limited choice. Ordered the tortilla and an egg with vegetables with a gluten free friend. The food took an hour to come even though we were the only ones there. The tortilla tasted fine but for £10 I expected a substantial side salad, however it was just a pile of leaves and a tomato. They only offered us 20% discount for the issues so we paid £16 for 2 coffees, an egg, 4 asparagus spears and 2 pieces of tortilla! The waiting staff were nice but let down by awful chef and overpriced menu

Went here yesterday after going the Design Museum nearby. It wasn't that busy but lots of tables needed clearing; quite a mess but we were desperate for coffee. Bit of a mix up with an easy order and the cakes ordered came as the coffee was almost gone! Asked staff to clear the table twice. You also walk past the food prep area to go the toilet?! I'd give this a definite miss 😑

Terrible service. There were three other people in the place - it was dead. We were basically ignored from start to finish. The waitress got our orders wrong and didn't apologise, didn't check on us, didn't offer us more drinks (our first ones were finished by the time the food came) and didn't seem in any way concerned about us as customers. I have never waited so long for a juice and a very stingy amount of mushy avocado in my life. I could have been up-sold on tea and cake, but it was not offered to me, and I didn't feel like waiting another hour on the service. The music was only played intermittently - thank God, because it was loud GRUNGE music (of which I am actually a fan) but at a raw vegan brunch that is just SO inappropriate. I was so excited to find a raw vegan place in my neighbourhood and was looking forward to becoming a regular, but now I don't think I'll ever go back. Such a shame, as good service and just a slight improvement on the food would have me there every weekend.EDIT: I've just read a bunch of the other reviews on here. There is a consistent theme: BAD SERVICE! The owner seems to think that if they cut-and-paste a diplomatic-sounding response, that it will save their business. It will not. When I see is that loads of people have had terrible service experiences, and yet the owner continues to insist that this is not a common problem. If there are more than three people who are saying its a problem, I can guarantee it is a huge problem and most people won't bother to leave a review - they'll just never come back. They are clearly in denial of their failure to properly manage staff and therefore will not address the issue; which means there is no hope for the situation to improve. It's sad. Such a terrible waste of a potentially fantastic little business.

this is a funny place. the recipes are good but that is if they manage to have all the ingredients in one day!the past 3 times i went there, they did not have carrots, then they did not have almond milk and two days later they did not have macha.so how can you claim to be a healthy cafe when you keep running out of stuff!such a shame that they also have poor service.great location, great concept but going to waste due to poo management.Hey owner, if you care at all and look at the reviews do something about it!Rea

Very bad experience , we ordered cooked aubergines it too them 45 minutes to bring it because they said they make it from scratch and it takes time to cook. Not only the aubergines were not cooked but also the tomatoe sauce did not taste fresh. When I complained the waitress said it was not her fault and that she will talk to the manager towhich I responded that I wanted to see the manager. The manager did not bother to come to talk to us , such poor customer service ! Furthermore , I asked for lemon and mint drink and they only put three old mint leaves and also the rocket salad that come with the aubergine was old to!So disappointed, the standard has gone downhill unfortunately.

Service is terribly slow. We only ordered a matcha mint coconut cake and a coffee. It took her just over 20minutes to bring 2 cups of coffee. "Sorry" (I can't be bothered attitude) was said only after we asked why didit take so long to get 2cups of coffee.... The cake was lovely, coffee was very "down to earth". I gave 2* for the cake only :)

I popped into Down to Earth for a quick lunch on my Friday off...and I have to say I will certainly be back to this raw and organic foods gem.I have to talk about the juice - WOW! It is rare for me to have a sip of fresh juice and get blown away. I had a juice with beetroot, celery and carrot and I could taste every delightful vegetable (the difference I guess you get with good quality organic vegetables). The juice made me sit down for lunch. At the end of my meal, I decided to stay back and relax for a little while longer and soak in the atmosphere. I ordered a divine raw cake packed with fruit and nuts, and an almond milk latte.I started having a chat with a lady sitting next to me who also commented on how fresh and high quality the ingredients were.I observed another table with a family give overwhelmingly positive feedback to the waiter about their meal.....So, I got quite the shock when I went on to trip advisor to give my review and found the rating to be poor....I'm not sure what happened but there must have been a change in management! This place is truly outstanding. The food is incredibly fresh and embracing of the organic and raw foods movement. The decor and atmosphere peaceful, contemporary and slightly quirky....there is even a yoga studio with a real moss feature wall downstairs! If you want high quality organic food (or just a really enjoyable lunch) next to one of London's most beautiful parks - Holland Park - then this place is a must!!

We had a really poor experience here, and it was down to terrible service; unfortunately, there wasn't a single thing that went right. We were a group of three, and once we sat down, it took fifteen minutes and me getting up to ask for menus to get them. When our server brought our menus, we asked straightaway for a cappuccino, a juice, and a sparkling water. We ended up waiting close to thirty minutes for our drinks, and we asked twice about them. When our server took our order, which was two regular sourdough scrambles, and one gluten free sourdough scramble, one of our group asked for a flat white, too, and water for the table. When the server brought the napkins and silverware, she tossed the silverware on top of the napkins, which we thought was pretty rude. She eventually brought a bottle of water, but no drinking glasses. Our food took an hour, and the flat white never came. All three sourdough scrambles came out on gluten free bread, and none of it was toasted; the eggs were also supposed to have been spiced with turmeric, but none were. We caught a manager's attention to let her know that two of the meals came out wrong, and none of the bread was toasted, and we hadn't received the flat white at all, or any water glasses. She sent the two scrambles to the kitchen to have them made properly, and they came out in another twenty minutes. She also finally brought out the flat white and glasses for the water. We ate quickly, and asked for the bill. Our server must have just kept forgetting us, because I had to ask her again, and then still fifteen minutes later, I asked the manager to bring our bill. We got the bill and got our three cards out to pay. The bill was £27, so we asked that £10 be put on one card, and £8.50 on the other two. The manager put £10 on the first card, and £17 on the second card, with none on the third. At this point, we were just completely exasperated, and the manager didn't offer an apology (and obviously no solution, since she had already tapped the card and it had gone through). I'm just really appalled at poorly we were treated, as if it was an inconvenience for us to have come in to eat, and that they didn't have the decency to apologise for the service (or lack thereof). An hour and forty five minutes total for three plates of eggs and a couple drinks is ridiculous, only to have the billing messed up on top of it all. We will not be returning, and I would recommend avoiding this place until they sort out their issues.

We stopped in to get coffee this morning because we liked the idea behind this cafe, but we got distracted along the way by all the great looking baked goods. We sampled a raw fruit tart which was better than I expected, and we also got a loaf of granery bread, though it could have been better. Still, overall it was a good place and we will definitely go back.
