I haven't even left the restaurant yet and I am writing a review. That's how good this place is. Hands down best onion soup I have ever had in life (been to 25+ counties in 4 continents) rack of lamb, Shepard pie, and roast pork belly all exceptional. I would rate 6 stars if I could.Update 1/31/22**Thank you for all the views! If you would like more quality culinary reviews, follow me on Instagram! jcaro212

Pre Royal Albert Hall dinner, table booked in advance, Menu was good selection and set menus very reasonably priced. stairs and restaurant quite tight. Food was good quality well cooked and presented, although thought apple crumble was over spiced with Cinnamon. overall would recommend and would return.

What a lovely restaurant! Came here for dinner with my partner and our dog and could not recommend more. We both did two course set menu for £24. Portions are very generous and everything we ordered tasted amazing. Great spot for a cozy candlelit dinner out.

I went here for lunch on Saturday with my husband. For starters we had onion soup and a tart, for mains - fish pie and steak and kidney pie, and for dessert we had burnt cream and apple crumble. OMG what a hearty meal that was! An onion soup was sublime and both pies were exceptional. Burnt cream disappeared in a second!House wine is fantastic, no wonder you can have it as a magnum and pay for what you actually consumed (probably all of it, that’s how good their house wine). Portions are very decent and we had to take some of our food home as we couldn’t finish.Interior design creates a very cosy and magical feeling that stays with you for a long time after you leave. Absolutely loved this place!P.S. a group of elderly ladies were sitting at a table next to us. They were reminiscing about their past dinners in the restaurant in 1980s when they used to work nearby (drinking wine until very late, tumbling down the stairs and having to work the next day hangover “how did we do that, I don’t know”), it was such a great encounter!

Great and tasty food, friendly service. Good portions, finished feeling full but not heavy. Rich wine list. Very exquisite interior and cozy atmosphere. Onion Soup is a must try.

We absolutely loved this restaurant. We came for a special occasion and was not disappointed. The food was hearty, warm and the decor and cutlery took me back 40 years. We would definitely recommend and will be returning.

Absolutely brilliant. The interior is so beautiful and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm in the country side. Service was great, the whole thing was so quintessentially British.Had the three course menu, and all the food was just perfect and absolutely delicious. Portions were generous. My friends did find the apple crumble a bit too full of spices, but personally I loved it. The Earl Grey was also the only Earl Gray I had in all of London that actually tasted like Earl Gray.My British friend said the whole experience was like being back at mom's.Will definitely be coming again.

Absolutely love this. Tucked off Church Street, saw good reviews and decided to give it a try. Best outcome I could imagine. The onion soup was especially delicious. I had the best pork belly dish.A lot to absorb in the farm house furnishing and it’s absolutely an enjoyment to look around the dining area. Service was great and furniture were unique. Can’t wait to go back again!

I love this place. My boyfriend and I have been here three times already and we’re certainly going to come back again. The quality-price ratio is great, the food is superb and the money absolutely worth spending - around £25 with the set menu.It probably isn’t the best place for someone with a dairy intolerance but I personally ignore it because the good time is worth the pain. I haven’t seen vegan options but there are vegetarian dishes, the onion soup and the leek tart are particularly good.If you’re getting the three courses deal it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to finish them because the portions are so generous and they’re also beautifully plated. No worries you can bring home what’s left (I did, had a great lunch).Don’t get me started on the service, Danielle (I hope I got your name alright) and the tall Italian guy (forgot to ask his name) who served us are professional, polite, and great people to chat with.I’m not gonna talk about the interiors, just look at the pics - spoiler: they’re fab. Love this place with all my heart 🤩
