Friendly staff and good service. But drinks were almost pre prepared when we went and not very nice. Pastries were also not the best.

I bought a sandwich on Wednesday. I had a shock when at lunch it turned out that the sandwich was frozen !!!! when I came today and I told you about it, the employee disregarded me and did not want to serve me because I made a complaint !!! scandal!

I popped in with a friend for a coffee and a snack before visiting an exhibition at the V&A museum. Bad idea. The shop was not busy, but neither of the 2 counter-staff servers looked up or acknowledged any customers as they entered. There was no indication of where customers should queue, or if there actually was a queue at all, or where customers should wait for their drinks. As we waited (ignored, but hopeful) in front of the counter, other customers drifted in and were served ahead of us. Our order was finally taken and we waited for our coffees. We were asked, none too politely, to move; this was the only communication proffered by counter staff. All outside tables were taken, so we went upstairs to find seats. We managed to find an unoccupied table; another group was seated at a nearby table but all other tables were littered with the detritus left by previous customers. The tables had obviously not been cleared for hours (please see picture). Our coffees and cake were actually pretty good, but customer service was dreadful. A shame.

I was desperate to find a fresh "summery" birthday cake which would be uncommon yet delicious.Paul's provided me with exactly that.I am not a fan of cheesecake but bought 9ne here, to celebrate birthday withy colleagues.I fell in love with soft creamy texture decorated with strawberries, which didn't burn my pockets. The young lady at the till looked quite passionate about the cakes which felt reassuring.Must say we really loved the cake! Thanks to the lady as well who was very informative.

I have been a regular at this Paul's branch for many years now and thought its high time that I leave a review. The whole team are warm, friendly and the drinks and bakery items are always top quality. On my last visit Clara and Sabrina were so helpful so I must give them an extra thank you.

A very comfortable place to sit and relax. Their hot chocolate is the best I've ever tasted. The croissants are delicious though nothing too extraordinary. There is a lot of space upstairs to sit and enjoy your tea/coffee/hot chocolate in peace.

Friendly staff, good food, very nice latte which is worth the price. Only downside is the space. There's sitting on the deck above the bar which only fits a few people - petit people. Paying the extra 30p may seem a bit much considering that the sits are looking tired and the Caffè as a whole is in need of a refurb to reinvigorate the experience it offers. Still, a nice place to get a cup of coffee and have some goodFrench pastry.

The hot chocolate we had wasn't hot enough and it was very very sweet. But the chocolate eclair I had was to die for...very yummy indeed. Nice atmosphere upstairs although it was quite packed due to the weather. Overall, a nice experience.

Cold outside. Only upstairs seating area. Not only you have to carry your own drinks upstairs you have to clean your previous customers table and carry it downstairs first. Spent 20 mins there. This happened to all other customers as well. I watched everyone clean previous customers mess. Not one employee came upstairs once to clean a table. Can i have a discount please? I did everything. My mocha latte was hot chocolate not a latte was the worst i have ever had in my life. Then my girlfriend goes downstairs to ask them to warm up her pastry they put in the microwave oven to make it soggy. They also argued with her as she told them not to do that. You don't warm up pastry in microwave oven people. Listen Paul's learn to give good customer service, be nice and do what customer asks you to do. Customer service is more important than anything else in hospitality business even food. Will not go here or recommend it.

Imaginative sandwiches & cakes offering something different from the usual box standard. Friendly smiling, attentive staff. Outside terrace to watch the world go by. Worth a visit.
