The Castle in Kensington and Chelsea

The worst Sunday roast I’ve ever had. Was a bad sign when staff and chef didn’t know if the chicken was free range. Beef was over cooked, the gravy was watery, the Yorkshire was flat and greasy the stuffing was burnt to a crisp ( waiter thought it was black pudding) and as for the ‘roast’ potatoes! as you can see from the picture they were tiny boiled potatoes, must have roasted them for 10 minutes max…some of them were all mashed up, mentioned this and apparently that’s how they were cut in the morning. This was not a one off, there were 4 of us and this is how all the potatoes came. My Neice said the chicken tasted ok. Seriously dismal offering of a traditional Sunday Roast. Service was ok and a nice enough pub but will never eat here again.

Lovely pub! Good service, very nice staff and i liked that it was warm and clean.

I would recommend this pud as an excellent place to have your beer and your food. They are very clean, excellent service and lovely atmosphere.

Fortune & fame reside in this very trendy & upmarket location. Lucky enough to have family nearby, so Castle Pub is often attended by three generations of hearty foodies.

Located literally right next to Holland Park tube station, this pub is quaint and friendly. Didn’t have a meal, but heard from friends locally it’s very good 😊

We use the pub fairly often both personally for after work drinks and as a venue to entertain our clients. Always a great local place to go and last night was no exception. A lovely atmosphere, and very friendly, helpful, attentive staff. Thank you!

Food and service from the young waiter and waitress today was excellent! Both incredibly friendly and accommodating, both deserve high praise. Would have left 5 stars if it wasn’t for the supervisor who stood on her phone behind the bar not helping the younger two when they were working very hard at the busy bar! i waited half an hour and only saw her talk to customers or stay on her phone! she spoke very condescendingly and with a patronising tone to both staff members; who definitely seemed to be pulling their weight! Appalling from a senior member of staff. Hope to see an improvement here.otherwise I had a wonderful evening. Thank you to the young staff and the incredible chef.

Some of the staff need re-training. You should know a novice customer or tourist when they walk in and should be respected.. I get the British rude ways, I get it. We have it in the US too but the staff member I encountered was not pleasant at all. First of all this was Halloween weekend and many people are going around in costumes. I walked in and a couple of young hot girls in costumes walked in behind me and they got a table immediately, all the while I'm standing there. I only went there assuming they served food, so I asked for a table then a menu (which was only a drink menu, useless) which was like pulling teeth. The waiter was so rude. I had a pint then left. cozy atmosphere though. Never go back.

Got a pint here with a friend. Nice place, good customer service, interesting selection of ales, bar snacks were above average, Kensington prices. Still, I'd visit again

Stopped in here before a friends birthday - nice pub, good selection of beers. As a vegetarian I was really impressed with the selection of veggie food. For a pub.. it went way beyond the usual veggie risotto option. I had the miso aubergine with jasmine rice and it was really good. Would recommend. Not the most character filled place but a good solid pub!
