Maat in Kingston upon Thames

For lunch I wanted to support a local business and settled for the curry goat meal at the Momma's kitchen african-jamaican stall. The menu board said £7 but they charged me £8, when I questioned this I was told the prices had gone up. I thought fair enough but they could have changed the pricing board, however while I was waiting for my food someone else came up to order the exact same item as me and was charged £7 which left me with a unsettling feeling as to why I seem to have been charged more.Following your reply on the 26/03, I completely understand the need for businesses to put their prices up given cost increases and I have no issues with this as long as the pricing is made clear from the outset and everyone is charged the same.To address the points from your reply, giving benefit of doubt if I had misheard what the guy ordered who was charged less than me (although I was close enough to hear him clearly), can I ask why your chalk pricing board is still showing £7 for the goat curry meal weeks later instead of the £8 you said you're now charging?

A taste sensation! Beautifully cooked jerk seabass, sweet and juicy plantain and tasty rice. All served with a smile and great value. Will definitely be back for more.

Stopped off today for a mothers day treat and the food was amazing, curry goat, rice and peas and plantain tasted so good. Auntie was amazing too, will definitely be back soon! Francis and Laura 😊

First time having true caribbean food after watching many videos online and having a massive craving after many years and I can say for certain that my craving was satisfied 😁 highly recommend if you’re in kingston market!

Delicious curry goat and mixed rice. Bones in which made for a superb rich gravy...felt it doing me good; will be going back. And fabulous friendly welcoming service.

Food is lovely, good amount of spicy-ness, so those not used to Caribbean/African cuisine would be able to taste the flavours. £9 for the full meal was a little on high side considering portions aren’t huge, but would revisit!
