The Monkey Puzzle in Kingston upon Thames

The Monkey Puzzle is often our go-to restaurant for family occasions as their menu caters for everyone's taste and budget. The staff, food, service and atmosphere all work together for a fuss free evening where multiple generations can meet up. Can recommend the sticky ribs, chicken and veggie burgers.

Great spot for breakfast, had a wonderful visit prior to our long day out Mother's day. The ladies on breakfast were so attentive and friendly. Rushed off of their feet but everything was very well stocked. Nothing was a bother, Caroline spoke to us frequently, the manager Rachel was very helpful, giving advice for travelling to London, there was another young lady running around but didn't catch her name! Thank you so much for putting up with us, we will certainly be back.

Food was lovely... when we eventually got it!! Table was booked for 6pm, no-one standing at desk so had to wait ages to be seated. Food and drinks order wasn't taken for another 15 minutes, didn't actually get food and start eating until just before 7!! (By which time, the children had both finished their drinks and were tired as well as very hungry!)Not sure if we'll eat here again, if we do it'll only be because we're visiting Chessington World of Adventures and/or staying at the Premier Inn but, even so, would only be if we couldn't eat elsewhere as service was so bad

It's ok three stars.Our server Hannah was very polite and helpful but unfortunately there were not enough staff for it to run smooth. She seem to have to do many jobs and not just service. Ie in the kitchen prepping. We booked in for a meal at 5 when they opened to be in and out with in good time to enjoy the rest of the evening entertainment back at the Safari hotel. 2hrs later we were leaving. Food service speed was slow, mains slow and cold, poor presentation items missing off plates slow to fix, 35 minutes for pudding to turn up. Kids were done by this point.It's a shame food was as expected with the beef eater chain but just cold. It's not the serving staffs fault or the kitchen staff. I think they were just short handed which reduces the expected experience. Shame really.

We had the worst meal of our lives at Beefeater Chessington on 13/3/22 at 4.15,stale chips, just re-heated, tasteless steak-£33,absolute waste of money. We are regulars here, and usually its good-there was a very nice, very young waiter working on his own, and we didn't have the heart to complain-we took most of the meal home for our dog![who liked it!.If the so-called chef thought that was ok to serve this,he/she should be sacked.

Nice food. Good service although it was busy. Good value.

Food was really nice, not all of the restaurant floors were open and they did seem really busy and service did seem a bit rushed. We never booked a table so we were put in front of the bar, which wasn't ideal with 3 kids and the chairs were not comfy for sitting and eating for long periods. After a few minutes of pondering, I got my phone out and booked a table, then we were moved into the restaurant table area with suitable seating. Lol! Bit silly really, would have been nice if we were asked "would you like to book a table?". Nevermind, overall experience was good and the main thing, the food was great!

Good portion but steak quality and taste is just ok not amazing. It felt like I should pay £10 less. Polite staff and clean bathroom

Good meal deal options! Friendly service. Stayed for 3 days at Premier Inn and the Beefeater is by the side. Unfortunately they don't have apple crumble for 3 days . The steak is very nice but the grilled food was little too dry. First day Tried 2 starters, average. So the second and third dinner were main meal and dessert. Tried the bomb and Dome, and one team member loved the chocolate tarte, so ordered it three times. Anyway, I would like less sweet desert personaly.

We had a superb dinner with family. The staff were very friendly, food was unbelievably delicious! We had steak with sea foods and lamb chops and thoroughly enjoyed it. If I can give more than 5 stars, I’d happily.
