Good selection of food. Some are brilliant. Some are just OK.

After visiting all the Korean restaurants in New Malden, I can confidently say sundubu chige (spicy seafood and soft tofu stew) here is THE best in town and excellent value for money lunch set. My new favourite 😊😍😌

We visited Yami for some authentic Korean BBQ. Just look at those meats. The Korean fried chicken we had there was super cripsy and juicy as well - legit Korean food!Other highlights included the Raw Beef Bibimbap and the spicy cold noodles.IG: jojoandandy_

I usually would not feel the need to post a negative review after a bad experience, but bad is an absolute understatement with this place. We came here on a whim after seeing that our first choice had been full. There were a decent amount of people eating there so we thought to give it a try.Right off the bat, we were treated with hostility. We were trying to enter the restaurant to get a table, and their host (??), the guy in the Dark Blue long sleeved shirt and Navy Reebok shoes, rudely said "Move. You're in the way," as we were trying to enter. Naturally, in a tight doorway, coming in from the cold streets, we were taking a couple of seconds to compose ourselves, plus, we were waiting to be accommodated so we didn't just barge in to the restaurant.Mind you, 90% of my friends growing up in school were Korean, so I know this isn't some cultural or dialectical difference. We're Asian too, and this is not how we are in Asia. We aren't supposed to be rude to ANYONE. His tone and conduct was meant to intimidate, and every single one of us felt the hostility. He was just really being rude as a person.Hungry and cold, we decided to just push through anyway. When we ordered, he kept telling us to move or get out of the way again when we were trying to navigate through their tight, tiny restaurant. He was very annoyed whenever we would try to ask questions. He was also very rude when he would ask us to do things like move the plate, or move ourselves. We weren't obstructing anything. It almost felt like he was just taking a piss.We didn't mind so much that the menu was on a per order basis, but the servings were tiny for the price of a whole platter everywhere else, including restaurants in Central London with servers that actually were not rude. The only reason why they're getting an extra star is because of the sweet girl with the Blonde hair and the white jumper. She was very patient, and accommodating. The rest of the night, we would get eyeballed or scolded by the guy in the dark blue shirt, which, to be honest, just made us want to finish the food and leave. We understand the stressful environment of a restaurant, but it is never right to take out your frustrations on the customers. There is literally no valid reason to ever be rude to anyone, especially during the holidays. Even when he was being super hostile to us, we still treated this guy with respect, but we could not get out of there fast enough because this was singlehandedly the WORST DINING EXPERIENCE we had ever had in the WHOLE UK.The food quality was not horrible, but it wasn't great either. You pay a lot for tiny sides, and the portions of their meat were definitely not great value for the price. They will give you one tiny coaster with sauce, and will basically tell you they can't give you more sauce. When we tried asking for more, they looked at us like lepers. They ended up giving us (a party of 5 people) one more small coaster of sauce, but not after making us feel bad for asking for something that should be included in our meal anyway. The only food item I really liked was the Spinach from the sides, but apart from that, it was unremarkable. What really dragged it down was the service of that guy who "assisted" us, but was very fortunate to have had that girl in the white shirt to help out, because she somewhat made this experience slightly bearable, but not enough.Next time, we are definitely just going to the neighbouring restaurants. Never again. This was a great way to disappoint ourselves after an already stressful night.

Food quality was avg, portion was smaller than expected and not cheap. Service was not great either. Very unfriendly staff. The order / timing of food served was very strange - rice isn't served with main and starter (raw beef) came out last after bimbibap. Bill on table as soon as the last dish was served. Cash only. There is nothing I could rave about unfortunately. There are many other better ones in London. I will not be back.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon and had amazing Korean food that's much better than other Korean restaurants, even those in central London! All the dishes were perfect: the kimchi pancake, noodles, tempura, and last but not least their fried chicken (you will never want to eat chicken from places like KFC ever again!).Also, this isn't supposed to be a fancy restaurant where a waiter checks on your table every 5 minutes. All you need is someone there to be ready as soon as you want to order or need something, and of course for the food to come to the table in a timely manner, whilst maintaining a certain level of politeness. This restaurant does this well - great, prompt, friendly customer service! Will have to come back again to try all the other dishes - definitely one of the best places to have Korean food in London!

As always, never fails to disappoint, good quality Korean food! Really decent proportions, delicious food. The seafood and kimchi pancakes are delicious, the chicken with spring onion and mustard - Y9 is a MUST! The side dishes are very tasty too. The staff could be friendlier some of them really do not like working there I rarely see the staff smile... That doesn't put me off from going though!Would definitely recommend!

Highly recommend this family run business; great tasty food, friendly staff and good atmosphere. The bbq options are great and would definitely come back again when in New Malden.

This is clearly a family owned business, there’s a homey and familiar atmosphere inside the restaurant as it’s filled with joy and the employees knowing people. The customer service wasn’t the best as they weren’t very proactive in checking on us and they’re a bit quiet. However, the food was outstanding! We ordered a lot of noodle&rice dishes, the presentations and the flavouring were on point! I do warn that where it says hot, it means HOT like no jokes. It’s probs like 2x Nandos hot but if you like spicy then I’d definitely recommend. The short ribs on the Special and spicy mixed seafood noodles were amazing, hot, but great taste. Overall, I highly recommend.

This is the best Korean restaurant that I’ve ever been! 5 stars for the quality of food, portion and atmosphere. They’re also priced reasonably! I would definitely visit again!
