We ordered fire rice, crispy noodles, and the roasted duck with steam rice. The food is very great and having excellent 「鑊氣」!The most Unforgettable is the Hong Kong-style mike tea. This is totally authentic....having the taste of the 🍵 The location of the restaurant of is good. You could easily find a parking at a public parking behind the restaurant. Another option, you could park at John Lewis which is about 10 mins walk. Also, you could visit the High Street nearby and walk along the river path at Kingston.

My wife and I usually frequent this restaurant and have always found it to be the best with good food and good service, however this evening I took my father with me and the prawn crackers were old and stale so we sent them back. We then ordered our starters and the waitress who took our order told me not to state the name of the dishes when ordering but to give her the numbers. It was like a Chinese takeaway experience and not what you expect in a restaurant. She said she is not Chinese so doesn’t know the names of the dishes! When the chicken satay arrived it was dry and over cooked and not wanting to be an unreasonable ‘complainer’ I asked the manager to come and have a look to show her, to our surprise she defended the quality and said they have been serving this all day and nobody has complained and this is how they are supposed to be. I explained I have eaten here many times and they were previously always soft and tender but she maintained her position without apologising and rolled her eyes and took them away. Then our crispy aromatic duck arrived (which was not crispy) followed shortly by the steamed dumplings, the new waitress who stated earlier she was not familiar with Chinese cuisine took the lid off the dumplings and took it away. We asked the manager to please bring a lid back in order to keep them warm whilst we ate the duck and she instantly said the lid should not be kept on in case we burn ourselves. At this point it was becoming rather laughable and we realised the attitude here has totally changed and is not what it used to be like pre pandemic days. I hope the owner of the restaurant reads this review and quickly addresses these matters as they are at risk of loosing long term repeat customers

Amazing Chinese cuisine. Captures the wok flavor to perfection. Chinese BBQ- better get there early because they do sell out. I am from Hong Kong and many of the wait staff and kitchen staff are from there. Completely legit.

Desparate for cantonese cha chan teng after we moved south…. Found this gem in kingston! Walked in, playing jay chau music, smell the stir fry in the air, we know this is the right place :) beef fried hor fun, sing vermicelle, e-fu noodles….iced lemon tea! Thankyou for satisfying my hk food crave. We will come back for sure!

Awesome food, and we've eaten here for years, but my god, there is a waitress that is as miserable as sin and has started to make the whole Yimchai experience very negative. I have decided to not eat here until someone tells her to change the attitude. She is downright aggressive in her manner, and it is such a shame, because the food is authentic and great.

Absolutely top notch Cantonese classics served generously and beautifully prepared. Prices are keen (£10.50 for a lovey big plate of roast duck on crispy noodles) and servers smiley and efficient. Easily recommended.

Ordered a dumpling and duck noodle, two drinks. A cozy restaurant with nice staff. The food is okay. Worth to spend sometime here near Kingston town centre.

Expensive, below average chinese food.8 low quality dumplings for £12.80 is extortionate. The 'siu mei' aka. Canton BBQ meats are terrible - both the char siu and duck are completely dry and feel like they've been sitting around for days. I can do better with produce from Tescos compared to this. The sweet sour chicken, offcuts are masked into the little fried globlets.Nothing more than chinese takeaway food that can be done better than myself at home. Clearly unless you are familiar with proper canton good, you probably won't be able to tell the difference. Also, even the pearl tea is terrible - the pearls are overly soft - a sign that it is not fresh at all. With the same cost for this meal - grab a train to bayswater and eat at a proper chinese restaurant there instead.
