Really bad experience."Sirloin" of 200g overovercooked. Regarding the quality, my shoes taste better.Additionally, this was served with frozen french fries and half a tomato. You could compare that to a kebab plate."Un plat de cantine" comme on dirait.Wine from "bordeaux" please see picture attached.Do not eat or drink there.

This meal was exceptionally good given i did not expect much on the first hand. The staff was friendly and checked on you every once awhile, the braised pork and the steak were nicely cooked. If they have set lunch i think i will come more often.

The service was very good and the food was very nice. Much nicer than we thought it would be.The setting is quite cool, but in need of a little touch up - the table surfaces, for example, are every so slightly blemished. However the food made up for it, all very good (although the beef was slightly under seasoned) and with a few surprising touches. It's not cheap, but it's not expensive either; definitely worth it.I don't say this often, even if I've liked a place, but I'd go again and soon.

Came here for lunch as part of a company event as we where all staying at Park Plaza for the annual company Jamboree. The table had been booked and everyone had already pre-ordered their lunch weeks before, so it was no problem getting seated and all our orders came out at a brisk pace.Personally, I ordered a "Grilled and Marinated Courgettes" for starters, "Wild Mushrooms Tagliatelle" for the main and " Poached Pear" for dessert. \The courgettes was especially well cooked, long enough to make it soft, but not so long that it retained some crunch. Despited the "grilled" in the description, I detected no hint of smokiness. There was plenty of garnish to go with the courgettes. Salad, pine nuts and (I think) teriyaki sauce. The sauce just forced open the sinuses, allowing the aroma of nutty sweetness of the pine nuts to mix with light sweet and tangy bitterness of teriyaki and the milder courgettes, waft into my senses. The tagliatelle follow, not quite as nice as the starter, but still nice. The sauce was a little marginally on the rich side for my personal preference, although it wasn't too noticeable once I got into my stride. There were a couple of small slices of sun blushed tomatoes that I felt was an unnecessary garnishment. I don't really feel that the sourness of tomatoes goes well with cream, but your milage may vary. The texture of the tagliatelle was just the way I like it. A soft firmness typical of fresh pasta. The mushrooms had a mild earthy aroma that complemented the sauce.Lastly came the poached pear for dessert. I love cooked fruits, but with minimal accompaniment to allow the natural sweetness of fruits to stand out. I could taste that poached pear had been cooked with honey, which made it a little too sweet for my personal tastes. Fortunately, the pear was accompanied with a lemon sorbet which helped to balanced out the sweetness. Actually the cold sorbet may have numbed my senses a little as well. On the topic of sweet desserts, about ten of my colleagues had ordered a creme brûlée for their dessert. Only one managed to finish it, with the others commenting that it was too sweet. I had a taste myself and could confirm that it was.At the very end of the meal, just as the everyone had pretty much finished their desserts, the plates had begun to be cleared away, the bill was presented. Before anyone had even asked! A little too quickly to be polite in my humble opinion.Overall I was very satisfied with my meal except for the overly brusqueness with which each course was served and the way it was ended. Something which I expect better from a restaurant located in a 4 star hotel. Secondly, the aforementioned problems with the desserts made this review a borderline 3 instead of a 4.

We booked this restaurant for our New Years Eve dinner. Our final night in London. Let me start with the positives - the appetizer (salmon) had taste and the drinks were OK. The ambience was soothing. The second course which consisted of crab ravioli was disappointing. The pasta was chewy, not al dente but rather plastic in consistency. The sauce had some merit but was underwhelming overall. My main course was venison, as noted in the pre fixe menu. I believe calling it poorly cooked London broil with a sauce that was reminiscient of a cheaply crafted 1980s balsamic reduction and the smallest mushrooms on earth would be a more accurate way to describe this disater. The dessert was edible (some dated mousse dish).I have paid much more for a meal and certainly much less, but I have never witnessed a larger discrepancy between the quality of a dinner versus the price tag. This meal came to nearly $600 in U.S. currency (for two adults and my 16-year old daughter). Eating food that is awful is never pleasant but it is slightly easier to swallow and digest when it does not cost the same as purchasing three quality theater tickets in the west end.Bit of advice for Brasserie Joel - while doing a pre fixe menu for NYE makes perfect sense and charging those prices is expected - you may want to prepare dishes that show you actually can cook. You also may want to consider creating a wonderful culinary experience for your patrons that they can cherish for years to come.

Excellent service, excellent price given the downtown location, very friendly with kids, they give them crayons and coloring drawings and they have kids menus. The food is really good, especially at that orice. You can ask for any drink from the Primo bar, they're both in the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel. The dirty gin Martini is excellent. We also enjoyed the Argentinian rib-eye, the avocado tuna tartare, the roast chicken, the fried cod, the charcuterie platter, the beef stew. Also loved the cider. As for pricing, we paid 240£. We were four adults and two kids who had a two course meal and a few cocktails, cider and water. I think that's very convenient for that area. They're not crowded and you can usually find a table without a reservation. All in all a good restaurant that gives you a good price for the buck.

The food was average considering the price of the dishes. My partner and I also bought one of their cocktails and considering the price, I was expecting at least some sort of wow-factor, but in return for my hard-earned cash, I received a champagne flute of cheap Prosecco generously topped up with raspberry juice.Be warned, as other reviewers have stated, the menu is desperately limited for vegetarian/vegan diets.I did tell the lady at the front desk that the meal was too expensive for what we received, and she seemed to have taken the comments on board and was apologetic and polite, which is why I gave three stars instead of two. The staff's attitudes were the saving grace of my experience.

Normal restaurant, normal service we took the dishes to share to dinner. The best were tuna and beef bourguignon. All are small and with lack of flavour. Adds 12,5% service charge to the total. There`s 2-3 course menu 20-25£ + 12.5% without drinks.
