El Chicos Mexican Cantina in Lambeth

Food was lovely, hand no complaints. Will come back again. I had beef enchiladas with Mexican rice and a candy shop cocktail. All was lovely. My partner had the chico combo which consisted of bbq ribs and chicken, he stated it was nice and he does not have any complaints either.

I'm starting to believe that some of these good reviews are FAKE. I had come here before few years ago and remembered everything to be delicious however I went only on Wednesday and the food was TERRIBLE.If you are someone that goes out a low then you are able to tell between good and bad quality food - it tasted CHEAP something I could do a better job at home.The cocktails also tasted like an amateur made it you could tell it was not professionally done - I had the mojito and a daiquiri and me and my dinner guest was so shocked at the poor quality it was actually HUMOROUS.To top it all off my partner complained and was honest about our experience and the waiter didn't seem to care and said sorry and walked off! - You can from the whole experience it was below standard - which for some people it's fine but at least let it match what you get match the price.I wouldn't complain about McDonalds because I know I get what I paid for but El Chico- if you want to serve SUBSTANDARD food drinks and service then let your prices reflect it.BTW the restaurant and decor itself looks like they got their decor from Poundland and half the restaurant isn't even done up - looks like a cave.

I've been frequenting this place on and off for decades. Best Mexican food I've tasted in London!Miss the tacky decor and music v.much, it's all a bit neutral now, but lovely service from Tyler; I had to ask his name because he was fantastic, but I didn't have enough money to leave the tip he deserved! So writing this instead. Thanks Tyler, my family and I appreciated you!

Mexican cuisine is my favourite one, and this restaurant serves it properly. I only wish enchiladas were a bit more spicy

The only Mexican restaurant in Streatham Hill!Customer service was great, they are attentive and very helpful in menu and cocktail knowledge, they were able to provide good services. Thank you!Food and beverages are reasonable priced, especially with their Happy hour options from Mon-fri, 5pm-7pm (Cocktails £5, Wine £4, Beer £3 offer )I would have given them a 5 rating if they had more of a Mexican vibe to the restaurant, I used to come here often before and I loved their decorations, it used to make it so much more fun and lively to dine in.They definitely did improve on their lighting since I am able to see the food much better in photos compared to before as it used to make the food look really red and dark.

Brilliant service that was super fast! Delicious food (plus great vegetarian options). Amazing mocktails, really yummy and lovely, friendly service. Could not recommend it more it was lovely and pretty reasonably prices too

Been here several times and always walk away happy. Such wonderful service, a feel like no other restaurant. Loved the cocktails, tequila and of course the burritos and tacos! Will be back to try more of the menu very soon :-)

First time back here in a very long time. Was surprised they were still in business.Had a great time with the family, atmosphere was calm, air conditioned well, friendly staff and of course great food. Its great there are options to have a smaller portion when you want a lighter meal that isn’t a salad. Look forward to returning for an evening meal.
