Healthy Eaters Brixton in Lambeth

This use to be my absolute favourite Caribbean take away. Their patties were the closest comparison to the ones in Jamaica (Tasty or Juicy Patty). Today I went there for the first time since pandemic begun and I was wholly disappointed ☹️ not only have the patties gone up in price quite significantly, but the filling has suffered too. I’m all for businesses recouping lost earnings but my god this was BAD. The patty fillings (veg, salt fish, feed and lamb) tasted all the same = cornflour 😶 salt fish was the worst; it didn’t even lay next to a fish let alone had salt fish inside it. All the patty fillings were mushy and tasteless, full of thickening ingredients minus the actual mean/fish or veg. And to think that for a higher price you get less ingredients is shocking. Chicken soup was bland too, no flavour, no pepper, none of the Caribbean flavours ☹️ My all time favourite is now my place to avoid. #upset

Amazing caribbean takeaway, a reliable good meal in brixton. AMAZING CURRY GOATFinding a good caribbean takeaway can be hard as theyre not always good but this is one you can go to and won't disapoint. The portion is really big, price is standard (£7 small i think and £8.50 large meal). I had curry goat and rice peas and salad. The goat was very tender and flavoursome, the portion was massive with lots of meat and not much bone at all. The patties here are good but a bit more expensive than other places in Brixton at £2.The only thing is theres no menu displayed so you need to have an idea of what you like (they'll do pretty much all traditional caribbean food) or be ready to ask.

Jerk is amazing but the one thing that keeps me coming back is the peppered steak. Best I've tried, make the 1hr commute some weekends just for that.

I was happy getting takeaways from healthy eatersI wish also for the sit down service to return. My meals were mainly fishI went into this takeaway recently to buy fried fish and salad for my lunch. They have begun to weigh the fried fish and charge you according to the weight of fish. I thought this was a disgrace and walked out of the shop. As long as this is in place, I would not support Healthy Eatets.

After experiencing the delights of Brixton we decided to "rock down to, Electric Avenue" (apologies Eddy Grant) and get a meal to take to humble Birmingham. The food was excellent, beautiful smokey Jerk Chicken with light, non sticky rice and peas. The dumpling and Colesaw were great value too. Now have to work out how to buy it in bulk to save on fuel driving to Brixton..🤔😃

Food is very tasty, portion are small though. Love their patties. Best patties ever! Wished they opened late!

Where shall I start. I know let’s start at the beginning. This is simply the best, of the best of the best for value, customer relation, EVERYTING! If you want quality Jamaican food and more importantly VALUE FOR MONEY, go visit this restaurant. Check out the takeaway as well. They really truly pack the food in. I actually saw someone having to sit on the packaging to get the food in. Hahahaha. Only joking. But trust me, I am not fussy, but I know what I like. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS PLACE, BOOM!

The food is authentic, Jerk chicken and rice were fresh and moist. Only let down is that I asked for heavy gravy and got the smallest bit which was disappointing.

The best ever Jamaican food in London. Freshly cooked. Also is cooked with care and personal touch from the chef. Also big portions too. Simply the best. Strongly reccomended. Staff is friendly and very helpfull.

Jamaican takeaway that also offers up seating across two floors, with a great offer of budget meals and classic patties. We both opted for a large plate: £7 for a choice of meat, fish or curry/stew plus rice and peas and a side. Worked out at great value and we both left stuffed. Jerk chicken was great although rice was a little stodgy and overly sticky. In all though I'd recommend with no hesitation.
