Metro Garden Restaurant & Bar in Lambeth

Unfortunately I was underwhelmed with the Sunday Roast as was my girlfriend. We ordered the chicken and Vegetarian roasts. The chicken itself was pretty good, tender and well cooked however the Yorkshire pudding was flat, the vegetables were lukewarm, unsalted and generally poorly cooked. It almost tasted like the vegetables were just reheated. My girlfriend lost her appetite with the Veggie roast. Perhaps I was just unlucky since the table next to me appeared to have ordered the Roast Beef and their dish had steam coming off the plate. In addition I did order a coffee which was forgotten. I would probably go back for drinks since the vibe and location was good but the food left much to be desired.

We had a wonderful Sunday Lunch here. On top of the food, drinks and setting being completely brilliant, we received some of the friendliest and warmest service we’ve ever had. Each member of staff seemed to read minds and anticipated our every need. This restaurant felt so welcoming and familiar - I’m sure it will soon become on of our regulars. Excited to see it in Summer!!

Had the best afternoon after stumbling across this place - we had the Christmas menu and everything was perfect. If you sit at the back there is a great Christmassy chalet feel, and there was a great atmosphere with the live music. The owner was lovely and very attentive. Definitely recommend a visit!

This has to be one of the best little gems in the area. Such a beautiful and cosey venue for a cocktail in the garden, a glass of wine by the fire or a romantic meal for three :)The food is excellent, the new chef is really good and the rotating staff are always a pleasure to talk to. Even the music in here is perfect. Think I will have my next wedding in here, it's ideal!

Love this local restaurant. Quiet and cozy on a Friday night. Great service and quality food. Menu choices is limited though, good to reduce food waste and help to manage cost for independent business, do ask in advance if you have dietary restrictions. lovely cat Harry is an added value.

A bit late, but had my wedding there back in 2019 . It was absolutely perfect, the staff was friendly and helpful. The venue was beautiful, we had the garden during the summer which was stunning and the food was brilliant. Would hugely recommend for other events.

The best Sunday hang out in the area. Love our visits to Metro - fab food, great selection of cocktails and wines. Fran and her team well and truly look after you. Venue is cosy and inviting, nice chilled jazz tunes and genuinely a splendid place to be all year round.

Lovely outdoor area out the back, well away from the main road. There is a section completely undercover and an area out in the sunshine. Plenty of blankets provided and I think there were heaters. Beautifully decorated and plenty of attentive staff as well. Food options are slightly limited on a Sunday but that is to be expected!
