Called in for a lunchtime drink as we had 1 hour to kill before our train departed Waterloo. What a good find! A proper old fashioned drinking pub. no music or food, good service, good beer and peace and quiet. Spot on!

A very traditional pub under Waterloo Station arches. The interior hasn’t been modernised for decades and the outside is pretty dour, but don’t let that put you off! A really great selection of well-kept ales and friendly staff! The pub surely struggled more than most due to COVID-19 restrictions keeping commuters away, so great to see that it survived and long may it thrive!

Great selection of beers. Nice traditional pub atmosphere. Pipe in the beer garden looks to have been leaking for many a year. Overall, a pleasant experience.

·

Been here quite a few tines over the years. Nice pub with a good range of ales and a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

·

Best pub in London by a long way. Staff extra competent and friendly and amazing selection of beers, great atmosphere. Been going there for 20+ years and never had a bad night. Picking up after lockdown and so glad its survived

·

Great place for a pint. Independent pub in spitting distance of Waterloo station entrance. Some great local beers on tap and not overly pricey.

·

A real old fashioned pub, hasn't been updated in years so won't suit the fashion conscious, but if you want a really good pint and a catch up with a mate it's just the ticket.

I was here for the first and only time back in 1979! Stumbled across it today by accident as I rarely visit Waterloo. It doesn't look as if it has changed much, and a good thing too! One of the few truly independent boozers still around. Anyhow I enjoyed my evening there many years ago and I'm sure I would again if/when the occasion arises.

There's something I like about this little hole in the wall but not quite sure what it is. Good for a meeting point as it's directly underneath Waterloo Station. Always meet here to start our evening in the west end. Drinks reasonably priced for area.

Superb atmosphere, unreal beer options and decent prices.
