The Library Lounge in Lambeth

I went here on mother's day with my grandmother and my aunt and uncle. My reservation was for high tea. When we arrived we were sat at a lovely table with the westminster in the view. We were presented with an array of tea samples. We could open the little kilner jars up and smell the teas. We could also have some champagne even though I was not booked for the champagne mother's day booking. The tea was lovely. We were served by a lovely lady named Renée. She was very attentive and was very kind and professional. She wished us a happy mother's day. When we received the cakes and sandwiches. They were delicious. Renée explained to us all the different sandwiches and cakes. It was wonderful. She took some pictures for us. We couldn't finish our cakes and they gave us nice boxes to put our things in to eat later. In terms of parking we parked right outside it was great service all around.

We had an afternoon tea with unlimited bubbles in the Library couple of weeks ago. I had enjoyed every minute of this experience. Gareth was looking after us with great attention. The tea was wonderful, sandwiches and lovely scones, following with amazing English sparkling wine. The views of Big Ben are amazing. Great experience for the whole family. We definitely will be back. Many thanks for all members of staff.

Very delicious food and view. Tea selection is wide and tasty. Unfortunately they do not have halal food options.

The settings and the food were lovely - Shame about the service though. Asked for sandwiches THREE times before anyone came to our table with food, left alone a good 30 minutes without anyone checking in.Was later told that there were only 2 people on the floor, which to be honest shouldn't be the customers fault.

Excellent afternoon tea - lovely sandwiches that were replenished, along with delicious scones and little cakes. Good selection of teas and very helpful and friendly staff, service was perfect. Venue was quiet so great if you're on a catch up and really do want to chat. Christmas decorations were beautifully done. Would definitely return.

Wonderful Saturday evening spent having a lovely birthday meal with friends. Our table gave us a beautiful view of the Thames. Staff were extremely helpful and attentive, cannot fault them. We will definitely be returning again soon. Thank for a lovely experience

We were deciding between this place and other places we had seen on google, just to have the famous afternoon tea with cakes and salted sandwiches. The food wasn’t the best, the tea was really nice and really nice presentation, but the most I liked here is the waitress named Maitane, she was really friendly and gave us 10 min of her time while we were paying, I love when people is nice when they work in front of customers.And of course, I think you can’t have better views having tea in the whole London! Impressive.

Visit with my parents on Friday, surprisingly was nearly empty only 1 table an ours around 8pm. As starter we had Salmon, wood pigeon, and the vegetarian option, the pork belly we send back as was not nice. As main we had Seafood hotpot, ribs and curried lamb, desert was sticky toffee apple tart and black forest cake, dessert were all industrially made nothing special. Ambient was nice and quiet, we have river and Elizabeth tower view.Service was below par. Food in general OK nothing special.

Classically British, but caters a little more to tourists, The Library is decorated exactly as it sounds, with bookshelves lined with titles like “Great British Statues vol. 47”. The atmosphere is classy, and reminiscent of a palatial room. A very nice high tea with an option for free flowing champagne. Nice views of Big Ben if you get a table by the window.

Review from a happy gluten free coeliac foodie who visited for a Gluten Free Afternoon Tea.**Venue**Wonderfully refined, relaxing Library space with just a hint of aroma of old, time served books. Unlike so many venues, even when full the noise levels are low thanks to the library shelves forming up partial booths and plenty of space between tables. Some tables have great Thames views.**Service**Excellent both before and after visiting. Reassurance and good detail about allergen safety provided prior to booking. During visit staff were friendly and sociable, sharing their 'tips' for enjoying some of the food. Nice touch to bring out warm scones inside a towel to keep them warm.**Food**I was confident that the food was gluten free. Most of it including bread & scones were bought in rather than prepared in-house. In contrast to the venue and service, overall was okay to good rather than great. Raisin scones were the only types available, no savoury or plain. The 'fancies' on the top plate (pictured) were the most pleasurable. Everything pleasant, just not outstanding.
