The Lido Cafe in Lambeth

Pleasant little cafe right next to the lido with separate access. It has a little tropical vibe and so felt a little exotic. Decent prices and really tasty pizza, it wasn't sourdough but was high quality with the right amount of sauce and toppings to leave you satisfied. Would recommend and definitely go again. Also had vegan options but I ordered the normal Margherita.

A lot has changed! We had a birthday brunch there a couple of years ago. Now (visited last Saturday) I wouldn't dream of it. Sticky tables, lethargic staff, limited menu, drab food. And you wait and wait.Yes, it's kid and dog friendly. Wouldn't take either there.And the most interesting bit? You sometimes get a "thank you" after posting a review, good or bad.Way to go, Lido! Plenty of better places in Herne Hill.

The Lido Cafe is clean, bright with a great outlook onto the Lido. It no longer takes bookings which is handy, we didn’t have to wait on a Sunday morning for our brunch. The service is pretty good, the coffee is good and the food is awesome. A great little gem and very child/dog friendly.

Laughably bad avocado on toast. Only half a portion! One piece of cold hard toast without any topping and one toast had a meagre smear of avocado, some chillis and it was swimming in an enormous amount of coriander which was not mentioned on the menu. Waited 40 minutes for this joke. Two coffees very slow to arrive, food even slower, had to ask for cutlery, had to find our own water. Two stars because of location next to the pool and the staff were friendly enough but seemed untrained or understaffed or something? Really disappointing meal.

Really nice tasty food, well presented, excellent decor very very friendly staff. This will have to be our new breakfast nook 😁😀😀😀

I'd heard good things about the Lido Cafe so I was really looking forward to taking some visitors this weekend. We've lived in the area for 4 years and not been but read a few good reviews. Unfortunately, we were really disappointed. After ordering, we waited an incredibly long time for drinks to arrive. There seemed to be a lot of staff around but no urgency at all. If you have timed tables, I assume the staff should be looking to quickly turn around tables. Could easily have made more money out of us if staff were on the ball. Food was okay but not very warm, corn bread very nice though.Weirdly, there were lots of empty tables, as we left and a long queue but no one was sitting anyone or wiping the tables down to sit more people.Disappointed really, such a shame.

Food was good, drinks were great.But the service was awful. We waited a good 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive, it looked like our order had been put to one side as the gaggle of waiting staff seemed to not know whose drinks were whose.The food arrived and we had an abundance of forks but two knives between four.Ultimately the food was fine, service can definitely be better, especially as at times there were more staff than diners.

Really nice breakfast/lunch place, good quality food. Banana bread is amazing but really sweet! It’s a bit cold inside during the winter. Service is ok - we’ve met some nice waitresses and some with attitude. It’s usually busy in the mornings - better make a reservation.

Food tasty, good coffee and great interior/atmosphere. However, the service is truly shocking. We ordered avocado on toast and waited an hour and 15 minutes to hear that they'd run out of avocado - no real apology, no discount, no attempt to provide us with something else quickly given that we were then so hungry waiting for the order. They had the cheek to still include service in our bill, which itself took 5 minutes to arrive. We were looking forward to eating at The Lido Cafe, having heard good things about the food, but the service was so poor that we won't be returning any time soon!

A very popular café where you will probably have a 30 minute wait for a table. However the food is worth it. Really great attentive staff.
