Rainbow bowl was great. A pretty quick and tasty lunch. Not too crowded. Friendly staff. Clean look, built with shipping containers right over the south bank skate spot. They also have a good truck on the ground floor outside. They accept reservations, just make sure you go to the right one as there's another one not too far down the street.

Used to love Wahaca in Waterloo, should have gone there rather than South Bank. Everything is fresh but not worth the price point plus 12.5% service charge. Was there for less than 1 hour and paid £100 for 3 people. Portions were small especially the tacos and I was not satisfied at the end of the meal. Even with dessert. Can't even say anything about the atmosphere as we were in a shopping container, chairs were uncomfortable. They gave us free guacamole but it was with 3 tortillas, a bit stingy. The slaw had no dressing, the textures were nice but no flavour, had to put guacamole on it to make it edible. Fish tacos were fresh but watery. The grilled chicken enchiladas costed £8 for that measly portion. Same price for the churros. I would have given a higher score if the atmosphere and experience was better but for that price point best go elsewhere. I guess central London, we couldn't see any Riverside as the window was covered with some mesh like substance on the shipping container.I was now blown away by the food. It was just standard at overpriced prices. We ordered NO alcohol. Mexican street food should be humble not some expensive treat. Truly missed the mark. Not sure why so many 5 star reviews. I would not visit again.

As part of a chain you know what to expect from the interior of a wahaca. The food as always is tasty and quite authentic. The drinks are possibly a little on the dear side but very moreish

·

Amazing food at reasonable prices and very friendly staff. The best are chicken ad avocado quesadillas and pork pibil tacos.

·

Extraordinary night for a team dinner! The set menus are perfect to share and we were given a private room (our own container box!)The staff were very efficient and warm and they let us stay longer than we thought. Here are samples of the many dishes that were served to us. The churros for desert disappeared to quickly to have time for a picture!Special mention for the guacamole and chips as starter, so fresh and perfect!Definitely recommend booking with a party. Th only thing is to come with enough layers in the winter as the heating lamp do not spread heat very evenly and the container is not insulated. The rest of the restaurant seemed much warmer.

·

Nice and Cozy restaurant. We went for trying some local Mexican cuisine. We ordered beer with Mexican touch(must try if you love salt and lemon kick) croquettes, tacos and pecan brownies for dessert. Tacos were ok but the dessert was mind blowing. The restaurant was warm with local music. Should try once!

·

Unusual and inventive Mexican cuisine. Recommend the set menus in order to try the widest variety of dishes. Everything super tasty, even ended up with some extra food and drink on-the-house. Quirky location in converted shipping containers. Great experience.

I don't dine at chains restaurants that often but I do like Wahaca, especially the Southbank branch because it is in a series of shipping containers and has great views of the River Thames. The food is always super tasty with inventive ingredients and great flavours. We order vegan and veggie options and they have a great choice so we always find something delicious to eat. I always save room for the churros and chocolate dip!

We were walking along the southbank & spotted Wahaca and our lunch time woes were answered.I have coeliac disease so needed a safe gluten free option but also muggle food for my family. We were seated promptly and the lovely Ivi looked after us - my gluten free requests were met with a great and varied menu. The Menu was seperated for Allergy or Intolerance Gluten free requirements - this was thoroughly explained by my waiter.A manager approved my order - we ordered the mexican nachos to share, followed by Beef Burrito for husband, Pork Quesidilla for almost teenage son, Cheese Quesadilla for my 4 year old and I had street food tacos which were fresh, vibrant and delicious. The restaurant & facilities were really well maintained, clean and guidelines were thoroughly explained. Really wish there was a wahaca near us in Sunderland as I'd be there more regularly.

I absolutely loved it! The food was amazing and the drinks as well. Portion of the food was just right and it was very tasty. Coffee came with complimentary chocolates which was a nice surprise. The dessert was just lovely with the portion of ice cream and caramel on the top. Also I never seen anywhere any nicest staff! Everyone said hello to us and was just amazing! Shout out to our server for being great. Definitely will come back!
