Canvas & Cream in Lewisham

Had a great lunch with my mum here today. The food, drinks (coffee) and cakes were all great. Nice decor and ambience with very friendly servers. Canvas & Cream is now on my list of good places to catch up with someone over a coffee/lunch.

I'm so pleased to say my 1st visit to Canvas & Cream was amazing - Alice served us and was so friendly and attentive, adjustments were made for my friend's meal as she requires gluten free food. The food was absolutely amazing, clearly freshy made, it was also very tasty, and the presentation was excellent. The burger I had was probably the best burger I have every had and I was sure to compliment the staff and chef. Honestly, I live on the other side of London, however, I will be making a few more trips back to South London just to eat here again with friends and/or family...Thank you so much again for a wonderful experience, the excellent service and of course an amazing meal!

I am a regular visitor to Canvas & Cream and hosted my daughter's 18th Birthday here many years ago. The food is delicious and the service always really friendly and efficient. BUT today whilst trying to enjoy my excellent breakfast, I had to endure two customers on separate tables using C & C as their free office space. Lap tops on the tables and audible phone meetings are not conducive to a relaxing experience for a customer trying to enjoy time away from her work environment. Maybe there should be a designated charged for area for people who wish to utilize C & C in this way whilst purchasing the barest minimum!

We just ordered the most delicious vegan breakfast from Canvas & Cream! I would give it 10/10, and I’ve had a lot of vegan breakfasts!! The mushrooms and roasted tomatoes were so tasty, when they are quite often just mush! The bubble and squeak and homemade beans topped it off 👌👌. Thank you, we’ll be ordering again.

Great service, family friendly, original and wide menu of tasty options, good music. Have been multiple times with my family and all ages from baby to grandparents have had only good things to say.

Good coffee, decent breakfast (except burnt and greasy toast), but something felt off with the atmosphere, hence only 3 stars…The service was a bit cold. Doesn’t seem like a happy work environment.

This place is great! We recently had a family party for 20 people and it was amazing. The food is delicious and they catered a lovely spread with lots of great options. And they made us a lovely cake. The staff are the best! Highly recommend

Canvas & Cream has always been a bit of a Forest Hill institution to me. The menu is great. Staff really attentive. And a nice atmosphere. The kitchen was also really mindful of my little boy's allergies, reassuring me at every turn. Great place and well worth a visit.

I came here for a little self care date with myself & popped in for a coffee and piece of cake. Cake was a tad dry but it’s a nice cafe to sit and have a coffee in. I’d prefer here any day to Costa across the road BUT I didn’t like that they added service charge to my bill. I just came in for a coffee and cake.

This was a really cool cafe in Forest Hill. Firstly I was surprised how big it was inside. Had a nice open plan feel to it.I was really impressed by the effort that had gone in the decor of the cafe. Quirky, rustic, artsy space with excellent array of lighting around the cafe.... also really enjoyed the open plan toilet space downstairs.Aside from this the food was lovely, we both opted for brunch dishes in mid afternoon! - Bacon Benedict and Eggs Royale. I added Avocado which was no trouble for them. We were really impressed with both the taste and the presentation.The juice Ginger Glow was really tasty too. The only thing that we could fault was the flat whites were really milky (like Costa) and could have been stronger coffee wise but this was our taste. It was still nicely presented.The gentlemen server was kind and welcoming throughout and we felt well looked after.I was really impressed with this place.
