Possibly the best pie and mash in London.Pies are home made and portions are generous. Best pies for me were the chicken & mushroom and the steak & ale pie, served with your choice of potato mash, mushy peas, baked beans and liquor or gravy. Prices are reasonable and service is good. Great authentic old school vibes.

Tldr; great mince pies and dessert (pictured). Eels are OK.Came here for pies, tea, and eels (my first time), all recommended. Food is at a great price, served in a cozy setting, and delicious, =delicious= mince pies and hot, =hot= desserts.My first time with eels was 'meh' - strong fishy taste, but not much else. At least the bones are easy to pick!Would come again and recommend for the pies. Looking forward to trying any more!

I was quite disappointed eating here after having read so many fantastic reviews. The mash had no flavour, same with the gravy and the pie filling. I kept pouring on salt and pepper to try and get some flavour but it was absolutely tasteless. I was here Sunday around lunchtime and although busy, there were plenty of spare tables upstairs.

I really wanted to love this place, as it’s inexpensive (so reasonable!), and the people are really nice. But the food just… wasn’t great.I had the sticky toffee pudding and I’m pretty sure it was missing the toffee part as another table had the same thing and it was swimming in a toffee sauce. They were on the verge of closing for the night, so maybe they were just in a rush.The pudding itself was so sugary - basically tasted like straight up white sugar - I couldn’t finish it. The ice cream was good though. Very Blue Ribbon ice cream, circa 1990s Australia.My friend had the minced beef pie with mash and gravy and didn’t get very far. She thought the texture wasn’t pleasant (the filling looked weirdly grainy) and the taste was pretty dull and unbalanced. The pastry wasn’t great either, but see note above about closing time. Most of it was left on the plate.

Recommend if you’re trying mash & pie for the first time. I got the cheese and onion with gravy. Was a good size but lacked seasoning/salt for me. Good experience & friendly service.

Delicious. I can't wait to go back and try all the other flavours of pies. It's not expensive. And the staff were very friendly.Don't make the same mistake I made for dessert. I got the sticky toffee pudding. I should have gotten a crumble or a fruit pie or bread and butter pudding which are all handmade and it was even written on the specials board. But I chose 1 of the 2 desserts not handmade. It was okay the sticky toffee pudding. But I had buyers remorse. Ah well. Next time I go I'll definitely get a crumble or fruit pie.

First visit here can't believe what I have missed the last 10 years! 😱 Great place,quite busy managed to get a seat downstairs but there is more space upstairs. Toilets were upstairs. Great pie/mash & gravy. Will be back soon. 🥧🍽

After walking for hours in Greenwich visiting the Maritime Museum, Royal Observatory, and the Queen’s House, I stumbled upon this place while walking back to take the boat to Central London. So happy that I decided to stop by for a quick bite.Prices are beyond reasonable for London standards, and the staff is beyond friendly. I got the traditional pie and mash with liquor, and some tea… all for £5 too! The pie was very fresh, and I had never tried pie with liquor before, but really loved it. Would love to come here if I ever visit Greenwich again!

Fresh pies, good prices, I'll come back. Had the traditional pie and mash with liquor, wife had the lamb with gravy. I preferred the lamb with gravy as it was more meaty. Next time will try the other ones and will probably go for the gravy rather than the liquor though.
