Amazing Sunday roast and a brilliant cheesecake desert. We had a table of 8 people on a busy Sunday lunchtime but the staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more professional considering how rammed they were. Fantastic. The chairs are a ‘bit rustic’ but who cares when the food & service is this good! Thank you!

Nice enough pub sitting on the Heath but the food is distinctly under par and the place rather disorganised. Would revisit for drinks but would never eat there again #thehappycouple #theextreamlyhappycouple #theprincessofwales #blackheath

I have great memories from this place. Often came up here after a game of footy on the Heath and the staff (no matter how often they change) have always been friendly. Decent selection of pints and the food ain't bad either. Brilliant garden at the back for summer and it's a great location overall.

Excellent food, great atmosphere, lovely pub!

Great service. Didn't have to wait long to get food and the waiter/waitress were really attentive. Highly recommended

Nice vibe in this pub which has a large garden and welcomes very well behaved dogs. Plenty of seating in booths or armchairs plus a lot outside.Drinks were not as expensive as expected; the food was tasty but overpriced and the waitress didn't write down our order which I suspect was why the steak was served medium rather than medium rare. Rookie? They had a lovely singer in a corner of the pub which was so nice - but it was too loud for me and they did oblige turning the speaker down which I really appreciated. I'll definitely revisit and look forward to seeing the garden in summer.

Nice pub and staff, only a couple of grumbles - we booked for 4pm on a Sunday for a roast and the website or my booking process gave no indication that there was a cut off when I said why we were coming. Once sat down we were told that all roasts sell out by 3pm at the latest and that is well known locally apparently. As new residents to the area, would have been good to know that upon booking vs. being told at the table.Opted for the evening menu instead, and while food was ok it is a bit expensive for what it is. Like I said though, the staff are really friendly and an asset to the place.

I've walked past this pub for ever but have always been in a rush and not had the time for a visit. Tonight we had a bit more discretionary time and decided to see if they had availability, which lucky for us we got the last two seater table. Great atmosphere and good food. Sorry forgot to take any pictures of the food, but the open fireplace is awesome on a chilly evening. Booking essential.

Overall, great spot for dinner. Extremely dog friendly, and plenty of dog biscuits available if your furry friends require bar snacks. Staff were very understandable with dietary requirements, and although there weren’t many gluten free and vegetarian mains options available - or any, at the time of visit - the kitchen and staff did a marvellous job finding something I could eat off the menu, and I went with a bigger version of a starter in the end. The rice was a little on the crunchy side, even for al dente, but it was filling and flavourful and they went above and beyond to serve me. Great place, lovely staff. Atmosphere inside is dark and eclectic but not pretentious, and right next to the heath and the duck pond, so great Blackheath location.

A lovely pub on the edge of Blackheath Common. Plenty of beer options to quench your thirst, including 5 casks. Table service and contactless or cards only at the moment. Service is quick and friendly. There is a menu to suit most tastes. Seating outside at the front of the pub and a lovely patio garden to the rear. A great place to spend some time.
