Great steaks cooked via an open kitchen. Lovely family hospitality who are more then happy to accommodate food requests.

We went to Simms for the steaks I heard so much about this place and wanted to see if it's as good as other places we've been to. Well we were not disappointed! Simms had a special Veal T bone it was so big and thick I was blown away it was the best steak I've eaten in years. My partner had Ribeye. We highly recommend. No frills just awesome food at a decent price. The waitress was so lovely and Simm came over and had a chat. Go here and enjoy decent portions and great great steaks.

Came across this steakhouse whilst searching for a place to eat, the 630g T Bone steak and the old 80s darkish gloomy atmosphere is what attracted us.We ordered the chicken wings for starters. A Rib eye, lamb chops and the T bone steak for mains. Chef Sim would even let us watch himcook the steak, and sort of explaining to us the difference between Veal T Bone steak and Dry aged T Bone steak.We haven’t felt this warm for a long time eating in a restaurant in the UK. My dad was enjoying the food so much that he barely talks. Chef Sim would even take a couple minutes to talk to my dad as if they were old friends. It has been a great pleasure.

Driven past many times but had dinner last night there as walking past. Don't be concerned about the decades-old decor, you're there for the food... Sim cuts each steak off the joint to ensure freshness. We had the veal T-bone between us. Chargrilled to perfection with a light rose pink core. To start we had a portion of fresh kofte and also grilled chicken wings. Sides of house cut steak fries and a Greek salad. Bottle of medium-bodied Yakut , Turkish red wine from the Carignan grape (I recommend fully). Sim and his wife love their restaurant and love serving simple well-cooked dishes. If you want a very good steak and fries, go visit.

Fantastic food and friendly, helpful service. The ribeye was delicious.Edited to add that we've been back several times and tried many other dishes on the menu. The food has been consistently fantastic and we have been made to feel very welcome. Have taken several different friends there and they've all been impressed.All the steaks have been of high quality and cooked just how we've asked for them. One of the best steakhouses I've ever visited. Everything was made to order and the steaks even handcut in front of us - a T bone and a ribeye cooked perfectly by Sim. His experience at the craft really showed. This was our first time here and our first restaurant visit this year, and we couldn't have felt safer with decent space between tables and appropriate Covid measures in place. I would choose Sim's over the central London chains anytime. Thank you and hope to visit again soon - I hope others will be able to enjoy a great meal here and support a real gem of a local restaurant.

Great service and high quality food in family restaurant environment. Don't bother with high end commercial steak houses, Sims know how to cook delicious cuts of steak to your liking.

Because we moved we hadn't been for over 10 years the welcome was warm and friendly, sim still remembered, our names of all four of us . And we always had T bone steaks .Everything is cooked to orderSim doesn't cook just for his buisness,He cooks for his love and passion for wonderful food.It was just a perfect eveningI can't recommend it high enoughColin Stimson

Sim's is always amazing and such lovely staff. The food may seem a bit much but its not it's worth every penny and will not disappoint you.
