Skehans Freehouse in Lewisham

It's an Irish bar so the right , but wrong, place to start a St Patrick's day evening pub crawl. I managed to get in. The rest of our party couldn't as the security guys closed the doors at 6.30 as the pub was absolutely rammed. You can't blame a bar for been popular but we had to move on. Still the view of the city was nice.

Beautiful pub garden with cool Vietnamese food to offer. Good beer selection in a timely interior decor.Only problem/inconvenience was the £10 minimum charge for card.

Love this pub and the Thai food is a bonus!! Great vibe and a beautiful view of London too!

Skehans is an exceptional pub (authentic Public House), almost perfect for these pressed and stretched times for community and neighbourliness. Buzzing friendly independent. The cask ale choice needs to be better but whatever it's a shining example of what The Pub, our internationally admired and envied secular social construct that uniquely brings people from all manner of backgrounds together socially should be all about but isn't because of the #GreatBritishPubcoScam.Good job Skehans

Busy, friendly, proper pub with hidden beer garden at the rear and as you would expect from an Irish pub, it serves really good Thai food!!. Go on give a go, you will be glad you did.

Fun pub excellent live music absolutely rammed so takes a while to get a drink but that is to be expected. Thai/Asian restaurant downstairs I didn't have any but my mates were more than satisfied

My family and I booked a table for 7pm, we arrived on time and ordered drinks and starters soon after we arrived. While waiting on our starters, we ordered our mains (at around 7.45pm). We asked twice where our mains were as we sat waiting with no food and no updates from the servers. Our food finally arrived at 9.15pm, over 1.5 hours after ordering. I asked for the bill and waiting another 20 minutes for that to be brought. When I asked the server why there had been no effort made to account for our incredibly long wait and terrible service, I was met with more rude service by the young man with longish blonde hair. I asked to speak to the manager, the cook came out and was rude and shouted and gave zero apology. It is a total pity because the food is good quality but the service is the worst that I have ever encountered.

Definitely a 'boozer' from lunchtime to early evening when food starts then it becomes quite a decent and sociable pub. Cold though and heating not effective - barmaid behind bar with coat e.g. Nice Thai food from about 5pm on Saturdays
