Best option in Sydenham for Fish & Chips! Have tried many of the other contenders locally, like Tasty Fish Bar, Kirkdale, Marlow Fish Bar, Brockley Rock etc, but this unpretentious place is my fave. Fish & chips are freshly fried to order, generous portions and most importantly homemade chips and a tasty batter. It’s not one of those over deep fried crispy ones, but soft and delicate ones with some flavour. No exciting condiments, like homemade mushy pies or tartare sauce, but they do now offer battered halloumi too. And always a bonus, friendly owners and 5* hygiene rating!

A friendly family owned business, who really know how to treat their customers well. We regularly buy chips from there, which always taste fresh, crispy and delicious! Definitely have been lifesavers during this recent lockdown on those days you just want some comfort food or a treat.

I ordered using a promo code and was not at all pleased with my order. The chips were cold and the fish was very greasy so not at all nice. The dink that came with part of the order was a child's fruit shoot type of drink and not a can as expected. I will not be ordering again.I have eaten from there before but picked it up myself. Then it was much better.

If it was possible to leave a review with no stars I would . This fish and chip shop Rip off customers , my nephew was consistently overcharged for his 4 takeaway fish cakes , he was charged £3.00 each , £12.00 for 4 fish cakes . No chips. He paid by card on two occasions and was told that his transaction did not go through and that he should pay cash , which he did do , when we checked his account he had also been charged on his card , thus meaning on at least 2 occasions he has actually paid 24.00 for 4 fish cakes or 48.00 for 8 , my nephew has autism. When we enquired about this we discovered the actual price of a fish cake is 1.60 . This is a discusting thing to do to someone vunerable especially and we have proof and will be going to the police and trading standards regarding this matter .

This is one of the finest chippers in SE London. No ifs no buts, even in the midst of this awful pandemic...

So pleased that I have finally found a fish and chips shop who sell high quality ingredients, The cod is fresh, crispy but not oily and is served with nice crispy chips and not soggy like I’ve experienced at most fish and chips shops. The staff greeted me with a friendly face and overall I am very satisfied with my experience and I can guarantee that I will be a regular customer.

The best fish and chips of Sydenham. Fish is fresh, very white, cooked for you after you order it. The chips are absolutely delicious. Sauce wonderful. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. No problem for parking. And very cool stores in the same street. Try this once, you'll come back.
