Trattoria Raffaele in Lewisham

This is my favourite restaurant in the wholeof London. The food, the staff, the atmosphere is the best all round experience you could ask for. I am a diabetic and the first time I came here years ago i said I couldonly eat a salad, and every time since then, have been served a ‘special salad’ with the finest ingredients off the menu that means I can enjoy eating out like anyone else and enjoying delicious food. I can’t recommend this familyrun restaurant enough and I have brought all my friends and family over the years who have also enjoyed their experience as much as as I do. I willsee Trafforia Raffaele again very soon thankyou!

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant itself is quite small so I would recommend booking. The portions were reasonable for the price, but could have been bigger. The garlic bread to start was lovely, as was their daily special mixed berry cheesecake (and a very good portion size). Overall a pleasant evening at a good price!

Great birthday celebration! The pappardelle were amazing and the saltimbocca very very tasty. The tiramisu was superb. The staff is super nice and the place has a great friendly but very professional atmosphere. Raffaele is always super.

We’ve been here a few times and booked in for a belated valentines meal this weekend. The dough balls with mozzarella are to die for and the gnocchi was delicious and not too heavy. Great personal touch to the service - the waiter Luciano was simply lovely and super friendly. Tasted as good as food in Italy. 10/10!

Had a little bit of a craving for an Italian meal. Veal is one of my favourites. This was my time at this restaurant in Sydenham and it was very nice. Serving staff were really pleasant and ordering was quite quick. My meal with a glass of wine and a dessert was really enjoyable. Small but very well attended place and seamed very popular. While my local in Brockley is closed for refurbishment, this is a great alternative.

Doesn’t disappoint! Amazing food, great atmosphere and very friendly service. Well priced and was so good out daughter had 3 helpings of pasta. Can’t fault it, both the mains and desserts were really tasty and a really good selection for meat, fish and vegetarian eaters. Very homely feel, can’t wait to go back and try something different.

Recommended by friends, my husband and I visited here for our first visit. It definitely won’t be our last! We received a very warm welcome indeed, were beautifully attended to throughout our meal and just wished we could have repeated our choices all over again. Wonderful ‘Special’ dishes plus the menu, all perfectly presented and all our starters, mains and desserts were simply delicious. Can’t wait to return again.

Inviting kerb appeal - looks like a very traditional family run Italian restaurant, it was a special birthday occasion so we decided to ignore the rather pricy menu and venture in. The decor is old school Italian circa 70's/80's and judging by the cutlery and crockery some of it looks like it's survived from back then. On this particular busy saturday evening the acoustics made it almost impossible to have a conversation. Starters from the menu were averagely good but the main course is best chosen from the chalkboard. My wife opted for the veal and spinach cannelloni (£16.00 chalkboard choice) and was reasonably happy but my lasagna (15.00 from the menu) was a big re-heated "square block" which as a signature Italian dish from a traditional Italian restaurant was very disappointing (I've had better from a reasonably good cafe for half the price). The staff are hard working and attentive and we were happy to leave a tip. Perhaps the best way to enjoy a meal out at Trattoria Raffaele is to knock back quite a few glasses of wine to help blur out the noise, inflated prices and any disappointments from the main menu....oh and the deserts - tiramisu a winner.

A meal at Trattoria Raffaele is a beautiful experience. The quality of service is beyond what you would expect, with a personal touch that makes you feel special and valued. The food is of exceptional quality. Everything I have eaten there has thoroughly impressed me with the layers of flavour, beautiful textures and lovely presentation. This place is a gem. If you haven't experienced it, you must!
