Chak 89 in Merton

Went to visit last week for an event. Chak 89 has 3 suites across two levels. Suite 2 is the biggest which is a good sized room and bar. It also consists of a stage.The first person we saw was very friendly and polite and showed us around. We later on saw a second person who I install spoke to on the phone. Again, was very welcoming, polite and explained everything with us such as pricing etc..Good location especially if you don't want to travel too far out.

Visited a few weeks ago to potentially hire one of the suites for private event. Access to the venue was via lift or stairs which was adequate. The room we wanted to hire was a good size although it could do with a lot of updating. The bar was very dingy and the beverage fridge did not work.We were told they did not provide ice for the bar. But I was well informed that a previous function that the bar was stocked with ice. The kitchen was clean but a little small. I was very suspicious as the agent did not allow us to inspect the cupboards. That alone didn't bode well with myself and my wife.The toilets could've been a lot cleaner. Not very impressed at all.Considering we were considering paying for one of the top packages the agent had too many concessions which were surprised was not included.And for that final reason we decided not to book and found a more suitable venue which was cheaper and more accommodating than Chak89.

Venue was ok for my birthday party, however the administration/customer service is absolutely appalling. They make up allegations and stories, so as not to refund deposit.Beware when you use them, document every conversation so that you can challenge any allegation.

Really nice venue, a bit on the pricey side, we were on the top floor which caters for 120 seated, lots of space, the staff were polite & helpful, my only real negative was there are only 2 toilets, 😳🙄 1 for the men 1 for women is that legal 🤔😊Free parking is available they have various catering packages

The food was absolutely amazing and the quality was top-notch for sure. The staff were kind, helpful and approachable.

It's such a big Banqueting hall for all types of party you may want to hold. Large parking space, disabled facilities available. Overall, clean inside and outside.

I had my wedding event there and I regret it so much! I’m not from London so I had to book everything online. I asked them to video call me and show me the venue so many times but they kept sending me pictures(which looked amazing) but wouldn’t show me on video call so I ended up booking them. When I got there on the day I wanted to cry! It was such a dodgy place the lighting was so bad it felt so gloomy, lift had no light at all( pitch black) and when the food came we asked for knives and they didn’t have any knives either!! Terrible venue I wish I could give it -10

This banqueting is shame never ever seen discusting food is worse then any community halls one to all food was like Iceland frozen food naaan was packet one hard like rock plz plz plz keep away off the discusting place

We had our wedding reception organized here, it's an awesome place with a very professional and supporting staff. We got a great support from the entire staff and had lots of fun in the event. Highly recommended for any event.

Came here for a Family Dinner. Really enjoyed the food. Good flavors. Really nice restaurant.
