Dog & Fox in Merton

Wonderful stay with dinner, bed and breakfast. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was excellent and good quality with extensive wine list. Room was extremely comfortable with everything you could need from fresh milk for your tea to lovely large fluffy towel to wrap yourself in after your shower. Great atmosphere too.

Both Christmas Day and valentines ruined! We initially intended to visit on Christmas Day but unfortunately I caught COVID. We were very grateful that the dog and fox kindly agreed to pack away our meals for us to collect on Christmas Day. However we ended up waiting till 7pm to collect our meals for them then to end up completely inedible. We completely understood this situation and whilst frustrated understood the demands of the pandemic so we’re pleased when they offered us a voucher for the cost of our Christmas meal to come back and try again! So we selected a meal on Valentine’s Day. We attended with high hopes and it got off to a reasonable start. Initially we got served the wrong bottle of wine and this was very quickly corrected with no hassle. They didn’t offer us the chance to taste the wine. Our starters were good. We then noted things started to go down hill with our mains when our peppercorn sauce tasted horrendous and very chemical. After ordering our deserts, they took over half an hour to arrive and we tried to attract the attention of the waiting staff, who sadly were eating food visibly by the kitchen service area. We ended up going up to the bar to order our own drinks. Eventually after asking we got our desert 50 mins after ordering time. Safe to say we’ve given the restaurant a second chance and will not be returning. It has a very nice interior, atmosphere and menu it’s just a shame that the service and quality of food lets it down!

An amazing lunch at Dog and Fox in the centre of Wimbledon Village .We chose sandwiches from the brunch menu, which is served 10am - 4pm every day. Their coffee was amazing - each served with a piece of gluten free brownies.The environment is amazing - so spacious and with cute decoration, such as fresh flowers on each table and solid wood tables. I like each table has enough space that you can comfortably enjoy your own conversation.The staff was very friendly. We even had a chat with the manager at the end of our meal to give feedback.Will definitely come back and recommend everyone to check it out if you are in wimbledon.

My third time staying here, but sadly, my first non-5* (which does disappoint me to write). The front-end staff were their usual attentive selves and always good to be welcomed back. Unfortunately, on this trip, that is where it stalled. I was staying in the Village Suite, their biggest, but I still prefer the Fox Suite; it is more homely and warm. There was no robes or slippers (first world problem I know, but it does advertise that it comes with them) which took two attempts to get them, there was two bags of rubbish and a full ashtray left outside on the balcony (after three reminders, the man on reception ended up doing it himself - non idea where the cleaners were), and after two days, there was still no body wash or soap - lucky I had my own.The hotel wasn't full; there were apparently a lot of staff on, so not sure why they just downed tools halfway through, but on this occasion fell short of expectations.

We had a nice lunch at the Dog & Fox pub. We ordered fish and chips and burger and the food was nice. The ambience was nice but the service could be improved. The chairs we sat at the bar area were stained and looked dirty.

Delicious perfectly cooked pub grub. The waiting staff were extremely attentive and gave us a fantastic New Years experience 🏻 🏻

Nice pub and great atmosphere. However sunday roast does not taste good enough despite the looks. It’s a shame for such a good place.

We had our wedding reception here, and the staff were amazing. They even upgraded our room just because it was our wedding day. Food was great, and the bartenders were really good.The events team also helped us in decorating, which made things easier.

Only here for one night but it was great, even provided a bottle of champers for arrival on my wife's birthday. Great rooms, nicely decorated and good fun in the bar in the evenings. Couldn't fault it.

The atmosphere was okay. A bit loud background music and poor service really. We were given milk instead of custard for our apple crumble. I'm sure they thought we would be too wasted to know the difference. Really and truly if you are out of custard just be honest about it.
