Gourmet Express in Merton

I ordered some Shwarama from here. And I DO NOT RECOMMEND it. I don't know how they cook it but it is not good as I got food poisoning after eating here.

Very good grilled (not fried) chicken wings with chips. If you are driving there then their is off road parking at the back of the shop.

The door is always open but as soon as you go in they say it's closed. It's also earlier than they say their closed online. I've experienced this at least 5 times so I can only assume there's something about me they don't like

I've lived in Middle East and being used to Lebanese/ Middle Eastern food thr tast wasn't as close to what I expected and I was surprised when I was told they don't use Tahini sauce for their lamb shawarmas!Their lamb meat in the shawarma was decent though!

I have been eating at Gourmet Express since it opened .. around 16-18 years ago and i still go there almost every month if not more often. The lamb shwarma chicken, shwarma the grilled chicken the wings the sheesh kebab specialy try the garlic and chilli sauce on top of their chips (inc salt and vinegar) 😋 my God … in short its a heaven for labenese cuisine and very affordable. Writing this review is making me hungry. Cant praise enough in words.

The £12 Falafel Box was extreme disappointing. The hummus was grey and had no flavour. The falafels themselves were bitter and over-fried. The salad had absolutely no seasoning or dressing/oil. I went back to the shop and the worst part was the service. The bald man working there was extremely unprofessional and rude, refused to give me a full refund and started educating me on how falafels are made. Told me to ‘never return food again’, which will be easy, as i’m never coming back.

Delicious food, friendly staff and reasonable prices! We often get our lunch on Fridays from here and always enjoy it! Highly recommended

Food is good but way expensive. They don’t like to take card payments. I assume to avoid tax. When insisted then took card payment. Card machine out of order sign is always there.

I thought I would get a decent meal, I was wrong!I paid £10 for this meal and thought it would be a decent meal! Should have gone to Aya down the road.The Kofta in this meal was so thin, and dry I am surprised they had the nerve to actually put it in the takeaway box. As soon as I picked up the box I mentioned to my friend that it felt quite light. The friend had decided on a Burger King instead of the Kebab House. They had the last laugh!! I thought I was being healthy and yes the meal was healthy because it was lacking any actually substance. Also they had torn the pitta apart and I only had 1 ply rather than the both sided! They had torn it in half and given me only one side!!!

This is the most tastiest and affordable lamb shawarma or takeaway shop in Collierswood to Wimbledon area.I ordered a lamb shawarma, chips with salad and kofta and chips and salad for £15.45. Was super tasty, the sauces are amazing, great friendly welcoming customer service. Served fresh with salad, no complaints for any changes I had to any order. The guys working behind the till are so friendly and provide great customer service. The food is here super tasty and really great place to eat at. Has roughly 3 tables inside with about 9 chairs. But definitely tasty and healthy and serves all kind of grilled food.
