The Terrace - Wimbledon in Merton

Busy bar very popular with the young crowd,Intermate restaurant excellent service.Bit costly but the food was good.Lift out of service so lots of stairs to climb not ideal if like me your knees are artrictic.Attendant in both sets of toilets to offer towels and Cologne's.

Very disappointing lunch experience. Our baked potatoes were wet and hard. We complained and were advised they'd change them. We asked if we could choose something different as we had been quite put off but the manager arrived and told us that if we chose something different they'd have to charge us for the original meals too. This was ludicrous as they had to give us new potatoes anyway. The second attempt was no better so we ended up eating the chilli but leaving the potatoes. The manager told us that they'd been there for a long time and had had no complaints. Seems unlikely especially since the woman at the next table seemed to be sending back her goat's cheese salad- what could possibly go wrong!! As a good will rescue the manager gave us a reduction of £2.10 on a £14 bill Not impressed and won't be back even although we've lived in Wimbledon longer than the restaurant has existed. Very poor show.

The Terrace Wimbledon is a nice bar but it is not Deaf-friendly. My friend reserved an area for 40-50 Deaf people for a 30th birthday party. On arrival, first impressions were good - the bar is beautifully decorated and had a nice atmosphere. We arrived at about 8pm and as it got darker outside, we found the lighting wasn't bright enough for us to see each other's sign language. It was virtually impossible for us to communicate because it got so dark. We discovered that there was a lamp round the corner from where we were sitting which wasn't being used. I saw a member of staff doing some cleaning and asked if we could move it so we could see better. She said that would be fine, but I thought we'd better check with the manager just to be sure. The lady agreed to come with me to talk to the manager so she could help explain what I wanted. When the manager came over and the lady explained, the manager immediately said no. Then I got my phone out to type messages to show him in case he hadn't understood what I meant. I explained that it was so dark that it was impossible for us to communicate and we needed more light to be able to sign to each other. We just wanted to move a lamp a few meters onto a table for us all to sit round. We were a big group that had reserved an area, and we represented a lot of profit potential. He still said no outright and was not at all interested in trying to help us. We were really disappointed with his rude attitude and his refusal to offer a compromise. We had to give up and everyone left after only a couple of hours, which was such a shame.This is not a Deaf-friendly place. It's fine for hearing people or blind people, as there's music, a nice atmosphere and the dim light isn't a problem for them. The Deaf community should avoid going to the Terrace Wimbledon as the staff clearly are not interested in helping resolve problems for us and not interested in our custom.

Great starters and mains. Drinks were good too and generously poured.The venue is in a nice spot and the balcony surrounding it is a nice touch.Interesting place for hire options too for small-medium sized parties with 3 sections to choose from.Will definitely be going back.

Service is generally pretty good, prefer this as a sunny lunch spot to a dinner place though, as the prices seem more worth it for the quality of food. Which is great don't get me wrong, but dinner just seems a bit pricier than its worth. Drinks are decent, I do wish there was a better beer selection though!

Nice bar and friendly staff, views are good but usually can be crowded and hard to find seating inside. You can sit outside which is quite nice but be prepares for chain smokers next to you. Place turns into a club after 11.30 on the weekends and open till 2, they charge entrance fee on those days.

Horrible, disrespectful service. If you don't look posh, don't bother, because they will serve you last. So judgemental, that even "not bad" cocktails left horrible taste in my mouth. I was waiting to be served for 10 minutes, and people that they came after me to order had the right to order first. At the end, one man i think on trial session, didn't know how to do my cocktail, and had to look to his notebook, so I said how much and what he supposed to put to the shaker, as I used to be the bartender.. Then he couldnt find the garnish, then manager, and after waiting another couple of minutes, my cocktail wasn't frozen anymore, tasted of melted ice mixed with something that really didn't taste like your oreo cocktail, as i'm not rude and don't want to do scenes, i left it without the complain, finished my drink and left. I was really upset, because that was my one day off that week, and a date with my boyfriend. I think, if you charge people £10 for a cocktail you should do your best and if it wouldn't taste nice, at least your behaviour is on the level. But i'm afraid that is really really bad, if you want this place to be nice, you have to hire nice people.

Genuinely shocked at the bad reviews. The service was imaculate as was the cleanliness. Seen quickly and politely and friendly. The food was outstanding, possibly the best I have had out in a while. Lovely decor and buzzy atmosphere, nice balcony to smoke on. Can't give a better review. As for the "you have to be posh to be treated well comments" I am in no way posh and all the staff was on top form

Nice venue. However that is completely irrelevant when the quality of service is so poor. Rude staff, waiters telling me to "get out of the way! “. Bar staff pleasant, but refused to serve drinks in exchange for you prepaid tokens. Awful management topped it all off. Whole party kicked out 2 hours before agreed end time because of an incident involving no one that was in the building. No explanation, no effort from the manager to speak to anyone. I was pushed and shoved out of the door and definitely won't be coming back. Huge amount of money spent renting the place seems to have been wasted.

Four hours for the price of Six!!One out of five stars is too much for this place.There are some things you expect when you hire a venue for £8,000 for six hours. The most important of which is Six hours of service.When you pay you'll be told that you will be kicked out if there is any bad behaviour, which seems fair enough.What they don't tell you is that their doors close at 11PM, so regardless of whether you are a paying guest, you won't be allowed in.Additionally, if the jobsworth manager starts to get tired, she might make false accusations of members of your group such as accusing one person of spitting in her face or another of trying to fight with the managers. And use this as an excuse to kick you out, keep your money and go to bed early.Drink and food are also very overpriced.If you are thinking of going here, think again.
